   Visited with my family of 5 and 3 small children. We had the fish n chips, lasagna and ceasar chicken. All food was delicious. The kid portion of fish n chips had the best fish and best fries. Smaller in size and crustier

   8 of us are here last weekend and it was a fantastic meal. The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable about the food and drinks. There are so many things on the menu that I want to try. Toilets lovely and clean. Well behaved dogs on leads allowed. Will absolutely be back again. There’s a fantastic loop walk you can do after parking at King’s Wood National Trust, down through the woods - have good and drink at the New Inn half way point - and then back up the Strawberry Line.

   Stopped here for Sunday lunch after seeing good reviews, and it did not disappoint. Both the pork and chicken were very tasty, and all the side dishes were excellent, I agree with others that the cauliflower cheese is probably the best we've ever had. It tasted like real home cooked food. Service was friendly and prompt, and we left very satisfied.

   Second time at this beautiful pub. Great selection of ales kept perfectly. Both bar staff and serving staff very friendly and welcoming. Special boards and menu give a very wide range of food. I had the smoked fish fisherman's pie and was really good. Infact probably the best one I've had. Top marks all round from my visit, woukd say booking a table is advised its that popular and a stones throw from Cheddar Gorge.

   The New Inn at Cross is an underrated gem. The staff are always friendly and will accommodate your needs easily. I love coming here with family as it has a lively but homely vibe. The food is excellent. Every trip is a dream. I would like to see a change up on the main menu, however. There are specials which is great, but a seasonal menu goes a long way for locals.

   Lovely rustic country pub, fantastic food, stopped by on a whim, got a table without booking on a Friday lunch time.. Lovely friendly staff, lovely experience, great choice in food, lots of specials, good portion sizes
