   Tried to get a prescription of Itraconazole.The Woman on the phone said its gold dust.Took me too long to get it.Tried ringing them repeatedly in their opening hours for urgent meds.They don't pick up the phone.This isn't the Newmans that were across the street.To be fair, they are polite.I don't know if the Lady from across the street has taken this over.But if so, the service isn't so good.

   Only gave Newman Chemist one star as you can't give none. Seems that Newman now run what used to be Paydens at the Oakhill Health Centre. And what a complete mess they are making of it! Paydens used to be open until 10pm on weekdays and until 6pm on a Sunday. I went round on Saturday afternoon only to find that they now close at 1pm and don't open at all on a Sunday. Fair enough. I'll come back when they are open. Sign on the door says they now only open until 6.30pm on weekdays. Quite a reduction. Tried again this evening, getting there at just gone 6pm to be told that they had locked the doors and weren't letting anybody else in. I managed to get in when somebody was coming out. There were about 14 people in there waiting to be served and the pharmacist I spoke to explained that they were unable to cope. She was helpful, (as they always are) but the manageress who was overseeing this chaos couldn't give a toss and just said, "tell him we'll return the prescription". She was no help to me nor to anybody else. Totally useless. Some genius has decided to cut opening times by three and a half hours every weekday and staff are now overwhelmed by the number of customers. It's not rocket science.

   I have been a client since the 1980s always polite, extremely helpful. I am moving temporarily soon and unfortunately I have to change my chemist, but when I am returned to my previous address I will also return to this pharmacy. Never had a problem that they could not solve.

   Attempted to collect box of LFTs. Having received order confirmation via NHS ordering site, I arrived only to be told they had none in stock. The problem was how this was communicated - with a high level of irritability towards my request for collection?! I was told to come back after 4pm when new stock was expected to arrive. I did that, but was told the stock hadn't arrived but again that information was delivered with some significant exasperation - even though I had simply returned as they requested! I was told they would put a box aside for me when the next order came in and to call first to check the order had arrived. I did that today only to be bluntly told that no such thing had happened and that further "that's not the sort of thing that we would promise". I appreciate they must be extremely busy at present, but that doesn't at all justify their treatment of people walking through their doors. Unbelievable animosity towards a member of the public simply trying to get some LFTs to keep myself, my family and those around me safe. Avoid at all costs if you would like to be treated reasonably, and use one of the many other pharmacies/chemists nearby whose service is infinitely better

   Despite there being several chemists in the surrounding area, I always go to Newmans for a few reasons: 1. The quality of service - always, friendly and polite 2. The knowledge that the pharmacist has - she often offers better advice than my GP 3. They have fully embraced electronic prescriptions and online ordering which makes things so much easier
