I am writing to share my disappointing experience during my visit to the Superdrug pharmacy in Orpington High Street today. I was served by a staff member named Tanya (I am not sure if she is a pharmacist). I went to the counter to ask for a nasal spray called Dymista. While speaking with her, I suddenly remembered that I had a voucher for Boots which was due to expire in September. I did not want to waste the voucher, so I politely told Tanya to hold for a minute while I checked if I could use my voucher at Boots. At that moment, I immediately noticed her reaction. She gave me an obvious facial expression of annoyance and sighed very loudly, which I found extremely rude and unprofessional. I felt uncomfortable and disrespected by the way she responded. As a customer, I strongly believe I have the right to change my mind, especially since I had not even paid for anything yet. I should be free to explore my options without being made to feel like an inconvenience. I consider myself a loyal customer of Superdrug, and I truly do not think that customers deserve to be treated in such a manner. Customer service should always be professional, respectful, and understanding. I was very disappointed by Tanya’s behaviour, and it left me questioning whether she treats all customers in this way, or whether it was directed at me because I am Asian and from the Philippines. I sincerely hope this was not the case, but her behaviour did make me feel singled out and uncomfortable. After this incident, I approached staff members Terri and Roland to escalate what had happened. I explained to them how I felt and how disappointed I was with Tanya’s attitude. I hope that my feedback will be taken seriously, and that steps will be taken to improve the professionalism and customer service at this branch, so that no other customer has to feel the way I did.
