What a gorgeous little cafe. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, ensuring everything was perfect and we finally found the best coffee in the UK! The porridge and cinnamon bun were divine. Highly recommended!

Delicious food, friendly staff, and great tunes! We had the daily soup, a lentil potato soup, one of the sandwiches, and the breakfast burritos. It wasn’t breakfast time but I love a place that serves breakfast all day. The coffee and tea were also delicious. We should have tried the sweets, because they looked amazing!!

Absolutely delicious spot. We had the traditional cinnamon rolls (served warm – perfection!) and the pistachio and Kinder Bueno buns – everything was amazing. The coffee was big, rich, and so good. Super friendly staff and a lovely vibe. We’ll definitely be coming back for more sweet treats!

Order a biscoff Hot chocolate and Biscoff bun and were amazing drink size and food sizes were great. Bun was creamy and sweet not to dry very tasty. Biscoff hot chocolate was perfect temperature. They made the drinks fast was little to no wait time and staff were friendly and had amazing service. The place was a bit cramped and was sitting practically on another table but was bearable.

We stopped here for a dessert. The place is with tables cramped together, but the staff was welcoming. I was seated with the back at the buns - really, really close - and I was continuously afraid to not drop any strain of hair on them ... Even the staff when they needed something had to squeeze in between my chair and the shelves - which was uncomfortable for both of us. In terms of food and drinks: We all ordered different versions of hot chocolate. Some of them were good, others were not drinkable at all. They come in plastic, weird skull glasses (I don't think hot drinks should be served in plastic). The Belgian hot chocolate was okay, the others not so much. We took a pistachio croissant, 2 slices of carrot cake and a bun. All of them were decent the most. The carrot cake was dry and had too little glazing. But it can also be our problem, since the reviews are all great. We often found that we did not have the same experience with desserts in Scotland as advertised or written in reviews, so maybe we just have different tastes. But if you find yourself disappointed, know you are not the only one.

First time in Edinburgh and this bar far was a fantastic place. Great to eat in or take away. I sat in and enjoyed the peace and quiet while my family was in the hotel two doors down. Ate breakfast feeling slightly guilty but enjoyed every moment. Staff were so fabulous assisting me with plant base ingredients. Honestly, a wonderful little café.

Pirlous is a great option in this region, not only for the relation of price, quality and size of the dishes but because everything is so delicious and so fresh. I had the soup of the day and a sandwich on the first day and come back in the other day and tried the salad. All good options, I will come back as often as I come to the city. The environment is cozy and the service is kind. Great option for vegetarians as well.

Absoutely delightful place for breakfast, brunch or lunch- food was delicious and flavoursome, the smells coming from the kitchen were incredible! Their counter showing all of their lunch produce almost made me want to get a takeaway for later!! 4/5 because the coffee could have been better, but nice nevertheless. Would recommend this place to anyone! Staff were lovely too :)

Delightful location with a very mellow mood. Lovely staff patiently took the complicated order, due to dietary issues. Food was great, coffee too, easy to finish what was on my plate. The tunes were the icing on the cake!!
