It was cozy inside the cafe and the food was reasonably-priced. Comforting carrot and lentil soup with garvald bread. We could not resist the cheese scone.
I only stopped to grab a piece of cake today while rushing to catch a bus. The Gingerbread was hands down the best I’ve ever had and kept me going for a while. The atmosphere is calm and friendly. Not a fancy flashy cafe, which is a relief in the middle of Edinburgh. Staff were lovely and they served me real quick.

Delicious and fairly-priced homemade light meals in the cellar underneath this church. Amazing soups and scones! The service is a bit random but not the end of the world.
Gem of a cafe under a church where they help people with special needs skills to help them in society. The scones were delicious and very reasonably priced as were the sandwiches. We thoroughly enjoyed our time eating and talking to the staff who were very welcoming. Whilst it's just a brief visit to Edinburgh for us, we'd certainly come back if we're in the area again. Great place!

Feels a bit like having coffee after Sunday mass, but don't let that stop you. Tea and crumpets were amazing. And the proceeds go to worthy causes.
I had a fruit scone that tasted just like home-made, baked there on the premises, and a fancy ginger beer. Table service was friendly and excellent. This place is in the basement of a very historic church, right in the middle of the town, and has always been noted for its welcoming atmosphere.
Wonderful raspberry scones (today's special) and excellent coffee! I had the most heavenly americano with an extra shot of espresso. A very nice way to start the day. Friendly and sweet staff.
Lovely place! Everything was perfect, the scones are just to die for, it’s heart warming! Highly recommend it!! Worth the stop :)
