   Nice homemade cakes and soup and plenty of seating overlooking the sports pitches. Dog friendly and a small baby creche so an ideal place to sit if you're watching a match.

   Decent coffee in Balerno. Good after the end of biking or walking on the Water of Leith walkway. Note that the entrance isn't obvious at first glance and is by the sign which says "Welcome to Maleny" . Cafe is on the first floor
