I loved their coffee and pastries so much that I went 3 times in 3 days! I got a latte and cappuccino with their homemade brown sugar syrup. Their pastries were also fantastic! We got their brownie, millionaire bar, and crumble danish. All three were worth going back for, but those were my favorites in order.

One of the best croissants Iโve had. Everything they have seemed fresh and delicious. The croissant was staffed with cranberry marmalade, brie and some greens and it was absolutely amazing, I would definitely recommend it. We also tried a pastry with orange chocolate, which was also pretty good but its taste was a little peculiar. The shop is centrally located and less than a five minute walk from the train station and the old city. At first glance it seems really busy, as both times we visited there was a queue outside, however it moves quite fast and even faster if you peek at the storefronts and the beautiful street. There is little space inside, so expect to have difficulty finding somewhere to sit indoors. There are some tables outside as well. The bakery/cafe is self service, meaning that you are called in when itโs your turn, you take your pastries and go. If you order a beverage, expect to go outside for a bit to wait as they prepare it. When your order is ready they call the number that they have given you when you placed the order. All the staff was very polite and helpful. The Milkman is a must visit if you are looking for pastries and a hot beverage in Edinburgh!

It's a small nice cafe at the Cockburn street and it's really famous. We waited a short time in a queue , approximately 5', and, lucky us, we found a seat inside. The cappuccino was bad and the chocolate cherry croissant not for my tastes. The staff is really friendly and smiley and really well organised ! They let 3-4 people at the time inside so it will not be crowded. The prices were normal.

Good coffee. Very small cafe but few outside seatings are available. People queuing outside, but moves fast. Vegan milk alternatives. Variety of desserts and pastries. Good recommendations are: lemon tart and salted caramel brownie.

Went very early in the morning, waited in line for about 15 minutes before being able to go into the store and order. The cafe itself is very small and has limited indoor seating. When weather permits they put out a couple outdoor benches with tables for more seating. I got the plum and cardamom pastry and it was SO YUMMY! It was not too sweet had good flavor and very flaky. I appreciated them giving it to me on a paper plate inside the pastry bag for to-go orders as it would've been a little messier to eat without it. The coffee options were more on the classic side, I ordered a cappuccino and it was okay, not anything too exciting. The pastries is what I would go for! Definitely worth the wait, to avoid lines go closest to opening time as possible!

Ordered mocha, long black and hot chocolate and they are all very good. Also had some bakery goods ( sorry, forgot to take pictures before we put them all in our stomach^_^!) And they go perfectly with the drinks. The cafe is very small but full of character and comfy. Will definitely visit again when I am in that area. Very friendly barrista even on a busy day.
