My wife and I visited Costa Coffee today with our two dogs, arriving quite close to closing time. Despite this, the service we received was absolutely exceptional. Scott and the manager, Claire, were both incredibly welcoming, friendly, and genuinely happy to help. Nothing felt rushed or inconvenient — quite the opposite. They went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and valued as customers. What really stood out was how kind they were to our dogs. They made a real fuss of them and even gave them pup cups, which completely made our visit. That small gesture showed such thoughtfulness and care, and it truly made our day. Customer service like this is rare and deserves recognition. Scott and Claire are a real credit to Costa Coffee, and their attitude and warmth are exactly why people return. Thank you both for such a lovely experience — 10/10, couldn’t fault it at all. We’ll definitely be back!

Came back again, but still as dirty as ever. Staff really friendly and helpful, but the toilets are dirty with stained walls and dust and grime, crumbs in all the corners of the restaurant. The place has had a superficial wipe, but needs a deep clean.

First time being in here. Didn't realize how big it was. Friendly staff and got exactly what we ordered. There was a wet patch on the floor beside a table and the staff cleaned it up immediately after I told them about it. Didn't have anything to eat so can't comment on the food or cakes.

I ordered this morning with Uber eats and they charged me the bacon roll I asked and a caramel coffee iced drink and instead of the roll I got a tostie that I’m not gonna eat as it’s not what I wanted. I tried to phone Costa unfortunately it’s a generic customer line that’s not available and the Uber eats delevery isn’t answering the phone either. Thanks for this awful breakfast you deliver to me this morning

Being on a business trip in Edinburgh away from home and having a day off work I recognised a Costa a coffee shop which in theory is the same products all over the UK with staff being of a certain calibre so imagine my horror when I walk into this shop to find no customers and 6 staff giggling and running around back and forwards from the toilets. This carried on until I made a an over exerted effort to let the staff know I was watching them and then they just went behind the counter and continued to giggle about past customers in plain ear shot of myself. Then when 3 customers came in it was like flicking a switch on one went on cooking toasties, one went on drink prep and the other wiping a counter however all still giggling at key words . From a customers point of view when busy this is an okay but as soon as it goes quiet and the customer watches watches the bored staff this is when things can become a awkward. As a member of “Visit Scotland” this outlet is not one I would recommend for visitors but just one for residents of Scotland who would not be offended/put off by the staff at this outlet. Pictures attached show the empty outlet on a Saturday morning where as every other outlet in the city and country is packed.

Best Costa around, 1, it's quite and you can get a seat. 2, best service I've ever had in Costa by a lad named Scott, what a asset for your company he is.

Review 1 - I went twice during the week and it was all female staff and the service was great and the staff were friendly. Review 2 - I went on a Sunday and there was 3 male members of staff on. Two of them looked like they were school students. They spent all their time larking about and couldn't care less if customers got served or not. The tables never got cleared. Since then I have never gone back at the weekend.
