Clean and tidy. I think may have been new staff as it seemed a bit disorganised, clunky and slow in service. They were all very friendly. Do need a code for the loo, obtain from the staff. Plenty of seating whether on your own or in a group. Plenty of space for toddlers to roam supervised.

I went to the Costa at Davidson’s Mains (38 Cramond Rd S) this morning and asked if the chocolate powder for hot chocolate was vegan. The first barista, who was in training, was kind enough to ask for help. A colleague, without even checking, immediately told me it contained milk. Thankfully the trainee didn’t just accept that and asked the store manager. The manager, however, was cold, dismissive, and clearly bothered by the question. She quickly pointed at “semi skimmed hot chocolate” on the allergen list, which obviously contains milk, instead of actually checking the powder itself. This was careless and unhelpful, especially when I needed the right answer to make sure I could use a milk alternative. On top of that, it was unpleasant to see how dismissive she was towards the trainee, who was the only one actually trying to do her job properly. It felt like staff are encouraged to give a fast “no” rather than take responsibility and check, which is unacceptable when it comes to allergens and dietary needs. After that I went to the Costa in Craigleith where the staff were the complete opposite. Two people who were kind, professional, and happy to help. They properly showed me the allergen list for the chocolate powder (which is vegan) and made me the drink without any issue. That’s how customer service should be. To make matters worse, my girlfriend ordered a coffee and the staff didn’t put the “soya” sticker on it as they should have. When I went to the Costa in Craigleith, the staff were attentive and made sure to use the correct “oat” sticker on my hot chocolate, which made the experience feel completely safe and stress-free. I will not be returning to the Davidson’s Mains store.

Great service from friendly staff. Spotlessly clean throughout, including the toilets which can be accessed via the code at the bottom of your receipt, so remember to hang on to it! The usual high standards in terms of food and drinks that you would expect from Costa. A great store to get that bean count up in your Costa rewards app! Convenient parking in the Tesco parking lot adjacent. Just don't overstay your welcome.

I had an excellent experience at this store. I was assisted and serviced my coffee by a gentleman named Ky, who provided outstanding customer service throughout my visit. He was polite, approachable, and demonstrated impeccable manners, making the interaction both pleasant and memorable. Beyond being helpful, Ky was genuinely engaging and a pleasure to chat with. His professionalism, warmth, and positive attitude truly stood out. I would happily travel from London again, not only for the store itself but also for the opportunity to be served by someone as dedicated and attentive as Ky.

I call in here whenever I'm in Edinburgh - for convenience - EVERY visit is the slowest service of any cafe I visit, I visit lots. Dire service

No WiFi. Very slow service. 4 members of staff and have been waiting about 10 mins to be served. Food often runs out but is standard costa food so is OK.

I didn't have food but the staff were very helpful and did not have to wait long on my order

I visit costa daily albeit not usually this store’ I visited today and ordered a sandwich and double espresso to takeaway, the assistant was like a rabbit in the headlights and persistently asked me to repeat my order, he then had a go and making the coffee but clearly had no idea what he was doing and asked another staff member to make. I stood and waited and couldn’t believe how another assistant an elderly women spoke to other customers and was shocked at her blatant rudeness and ignorance towards customers. I’ve worked in customer care within the retail industry for 35yrs and confirm this is the very worst care I’ve seen towards customers. The owners really need to pay and visit and witness how utterly rude and useless their staff-force is. I will never ever return.

Turned away with a 2 for £4 promotion on app. App clearly states the offer is available at any costa but not this one apparently as a franchise. Not the nicest way to be declined in front of a queue would’ve been easier for them to charge me for 1 and give the other on the house matching the deal as best as they could. Would avoid visiting again based on this experience
