Roasted pumpkin frittata with Isle of Mull cheddar and kale, lentil and roast roots veg salad, and some greenery. Very, very nice. Glass of rose wine wasn't chilled, but was good. Tad expensive. Also, signage non existant making this nice little corner a touch hard to find!

I could overlook the fact that the staff didn't pay much attention to me for a long time when I wanted to order at the counter. What I cannot ignore is filthy dishes in which my tea was served. Moreover on 4 pm there wasn't a single clean table where I would have liked to sit. Sticky or spilled surface. Overall experience just horrible, I have no reason to return. Sad.

We didn't have a good experience. The food was awful: the sandwich was served hot but the stuff inside was really poor; the potatoes, served as a side, were cold and hard. And the salad was just a few big leaves. The mini cake looks pretty nice but after the first bite we agree to don't eat anymore: it was not fresh (maybe it was, but they didn't kept it covered and eventually it lost the freshness) and the taste was not good. No, I don't recommend this place.

This is an extremely expensive cafe, with teeny-tiny coffees, but it is bringing in money for the free entry gardens, so I’ll not grudge them their money! The range of cakes is great, with many unusual but tasty combinations of flavours. The coffees are really quite small, so do be aware of that. Despite being at the top of the hill, the views from here aren’t great, but it’s nice enough.

Newly redesigned space. Looks great but the experience was spoiled by the deafening coffee machine.

Beautiful location! The bakery is phenomenal...but. They really have a hard time with orders. There's a long line and a lot of confusion. The cakes are Stellar, if you don't mind a bit of craziness when you're ordering, you will be fine.

Absolutely fantastic afternoon tea for my wife's 65 th birthday. We were offered a range of excellent teas ( with free top ups ) and then the savoury and sweet treats came- what a selection!. A superb modern twist on the traditional afternoon tea with Bake Off winning items, all prepared to the highest standard. I cannot recommend the food and the service highly enough, this was an afternoon tea to remember. If you want a special treat this should come high up your list

It deserves some stars because of the position in the Botanical Garden and the view. It's not bad if you have been walking around and wish to stop for coffee/lunch. It has many tables outside, which is lovely if it's a great day. Taken on its own, it's not a great cafΓ©, though. The quality of the products definitely doesn't warrant the high prices and the place isn't even aesthetically pleasing. I know that's not of fundamental importance, but it looks like they made no effort at all to make it a welcoming place.
