Proper ale. 18 taps. Mixed crowd. Not sure the interest in Irish stout, but it sells. The cask beers are varied and always fresh. So who needs nitro? Anyway always a pleasure to visit.
Malt & Hops. Mates & Hilarity. Mad & Homely. M&H is a perfect pub with cozy interior, stunning exterior and great location. Ideal for locals and for visitors. Arranging to meet my pals is easy, the location is always Malt & Hops. It is my local, even though I live 3km away. I have had some great nights and lunch time pints here, and there will be many more to come.
Excellent boozer. Lots of cask taps. Showcases local brews and ones from further afield. Unfortunately couldn't stay as long as we'd have liked to due to time restraints. Will definitely return for a proper visit.
A brilliant wee pup with a good selection of beverages from tap to bottle. The barkeep was super friendly and accommodating. Top notch place. I recommend stopping in for a pint.
Malt & Hops is a fantastic pub with a wonderful atmosphere. The crowd was friendly and welcoming, which made us feel right at home. The selection of beers was impressive, and the overall vibe of the place was perfect for a relaxed night out. We really enjoyed our time there and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great pub experience in Edinburgh!
Nice place to talk and chill with friendly staff. Staff makes sure that you will not feel left alone as they will engage with you if you are alone. Nice cask ales and beers. Amazing jazz music on particular days. One of my favorite place in Leith.

Super cosy Leith bar right on the shore. Fire on in the winter, great atmosphere and decorating. Good selection of beer, and other drinks. Friendly bar staff.
A proper pub, beer, an open fire, friendly staff and good conversation. There's a great choice of beers that will suit most tastes. If you don't find one you like it's down to you! Food? They sell nuts, different flavors too. If you want a steak there's plenty of other places...... Malt and Hops is a drinking bar. And it does it really well.
