   wonderful place. I've stayed in edinburgh with my boyfriend for 4 days and we went there 3 out of four days. It's the perfect traditional pub for a beer. The food is really great: from soup to burgers to main dishes. The staff is really special, everyone is incredibly kind. 100% recommended

   I was on soup kick while visiting Edinburgh and The Bailie Bar did the city proud! The soup of the day was Butternut and Coriander with a slice of focaccia. I was worried because butternut can be a bit sweet, but the coriander and hint of red chili balanced it perfectly. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere warm.

   Fantastic service and good food. Such a lovely spot! Stopped in for lunch and honestly had the best service I’ve had in Edinburgh. My server was so kind and attentive — it just felt really welcoming and relaxed. The food was hearty and comforting (perfect for a cold, rainy day), and the place has a cozy neighborhood vibe without feeling touristy. Definitely one of the highlights of my trip — highly recommend if you want great food and genuinely good people.

   I went here for Christmas lunch with friends and I really enjoyed it. It has a great atmosphere and the food is really good. I had fish and chips. It was huge and the batter was nice and crispy. Great chips too. I followed it with a Belgian waffle and ice cream and excellent coffee. Can't wait to go back again.

   Reliably good. Been here loads of times over the years but this past week it really reminded me why this place is so class. Was out with a pal on a Wednesday night at 10:30 - we'd wandered down the hill from town into two pubs who both declared they were closing (at 10:30!) and remembered the Bailie was on our way - sorted. As expected, not only were they open and serving, the place was bouncing. Good atmosphere, sport on the telly, fire on - lovely. Thanks, Bailie Bar.
