I just love the wee cafe.They serve the best coffee.The members of staff are pleasant and some of them are particularly friendly.The food is always tasty and fresh.Nice selection of cakes.One part of the cafe is designed for dogs owners so they can bring a puppy with them.The toilets are always clean too.
I live about 15 minutes away and came so my wife could run around while I worked. One of the nicest open concept cafes I’ve been to. All of the people working were friendly. The honeycomb latte I purchased was very good and the desert selection was extensive, leaving an option for anyone’s taste. There are also nooks in the cafe where you can get away from the bigger group of people to study, read a book in a comfortable chair, or have a private conversation with a friend. They will serve you at one of their tables if you have trouble on your feet or just want to go sit down. They sell jams and other local themed things along with having a gift shop with gifts, clothes, candles, etc. There are a few electric plugs around, however, the only downside is that there is no wifi. I do hope they decide to get this as I’m sure I would be visiting more often (and others as well) if they did- and would very quickly change this to 5 stars. If you like cafes and decide to visit, you won’t be sorry you came.
Service VERY slow on a Sunday afternoon. 50 minutes to order, and get served, a basic sandwich and coffee. Arrived about 13.20. No paninis left, reduced selection of fillings. No forks - several folk waiting for them, and they weren't clean when they did arrive. Was the food worth waiting for? Absolutely not. There is a very prominently displayed "Zero Tolerance" poster advising that abuse of staff will not be tolerated. Of course not, it's not the fault of the serving staff, it is the fault of the ineffective management. But the fact that they feel they NEED that poster suggests an extensive history of very disgruntled customers.
This is a large cafe.My husband and I had minestrone soup and a roll and it was lovely.My mum had a cake and tea.We then ordered a latte and an Americano with hot milk.The latte was full of foam and when we asked for more milk in it the girl was dour faced.The first girl that serviced us was very nice. We enjoyed our visit but it would be nice if that girl had been more pleasant.
When I visited, it was quiet and clean with plenty of seating. Staff were very kind and there is a decent selection of cakes (including home bakes) and also some food. There is no view, which is a shame, although there's seating outside in the courtyard. I don't understand the very negative reviews, it's not the best most stylish café, but an ok one for a park visitor centre.
Absolutely dismal. Has the feel of a swimming pool cafeteria. Do yourself a favour and take a trip up the Clydeside (Clyde Valley); plenty of family owned garden centres serving fresh home made food. Given this is in a popular tourist attraction, of historical value, you would hope for something decent….you will be sorely disappointed.
Nice location, clean, lots of seats. The coffee is really quite bad though.
The staff seemed friendly enough but unfortunately appropriate allergen information was not available for at least one item. I asked about the allergens within a vegan cake and was told by a member of staff that she didn't know because she'd thrown the packaging away. Not very impressive. Instead I chose a pre-packaged item which was very nice, but was still disappointed at the staff's lack of effort to be clued up about the items they're serving. Perhaps they need a bit more training in this area?
The two women behind the counter today were incredibly rude. We apologised for not hearing her but a screen plus a mask isn’t the easiest to communicate through. Eye rolling to the point it was obvious. I was then approached by a member of staff of the gift shop in a red top at the counter of the cafe shoving a box of masks under my nose rudely. I said no thank you he took one out for me, I simply placed it in my bag. If you had approached me correctly and asking if I wanted a mask I would of told you I’m exempt forcing people is completely rude and the time in and then out this cafe was a complete abysmal, zero customer service skills between them
Deluxe burger £5.95 was microwaved so dry it was not edible won't eat here again very disappointing lunch experience
