I’ve had my hair coloured and cut by both Becca and Aimee and I couldn’t be happier! The stylists listened to what I wanted both times I’ve been to the salon and did a fantastic job. All the juniors that have washed and helped style my hair were so friendly and chatty. This is a lovely salon I highly recommend❤️
Don't waste your hard earned money. Finally treated myself. Explained what I wanted to the person who took the booking, in person. Brought all my pics of the colour and cut I wanted. (I'm always happy to take direction from a stylist, but with my basics in mind.) The stylist barely glanced at my photos, but I thought she understood what I wanted. After the colour and toner I saw the exact colour I did NOT want. I hate the way I look so much now and I'm so incredibly disappointed. I wanted to look and feel good after a difficult time. Instead I walked home crying. They want me to book and pay for them to fix it. Nope.
I am seriously starting to wonder whether the person ( Aimee) who touched my hair was even trained to do her job. I had my extensions done in Italy two and a half months ago. I bought the best extensions and spent a lot of money because I wanted to let my hair grow. My hairdresser there spent three hours applying them one by one, not only using glue but also with special tools. He placed the longer extensions at the front because my natural hair was (and still is) short, and the shorter ones at the back. A beautiful highlighted brown mixed with some natural dark blond . Over the last two weeks, I lost quite a few extensions, but I kept them safe to have them reattached. When I arrived at this new salon, the stylist went to the back and returned without even showing me my extensions. She literally broke my natural hair while removing the ones I still had on my head. Without even looking properly at my hair, she started putting the extensions back randomly. She didn’t ask me a single question about how I wanted them done. After only 45 minutes, the result was awful — uneven lengths, no volume, and I started to feel pain because some were attached way too close to the scalp! Then she suggested cutting my hair to “create symmetry.” I told her, what’s the point of having extensions if they’re going to be so short? After just two days, two extensions had already fallen out. My hair looks dark and dull, and I have concerns if they are definitely the same extensions I brought in. She also told me not to use Olaplex, claiming it was damaging my hair, while she was the one who had caused the real damage — and then tried to sell me an old set of products she clearly had for ages. Her colleague even said, “Oh, is that the old one? I love it!” How embarrassing. I’m furious. First, because my natural hair is now damaged and looks miserable, and second, because they didn’t even apologise for the mess they made. Avoid this place at all costs if you want a professional job. I trusted the reviews — never again
Aimee done a first time balyage and haircut for my teen daughter. She was very friendly, listened to what she wanted and engaged willingly listening to how she wanted her hair to look. The end results were lovely and my daughter was very happy with her day out to the salon.
I booked with Alden for my hair color. He did an amazing job and it looked just like the picture I showed him. It was a bit of a change, so I was a little nervous as to what the color would come out as, but it looked wonderful. My hair looks gorgeous and so happy and healthy!
Best salon in Edinburgh - hands down! If I can dream it, Cascal can do it! The staff are the best and like a wee family. I love them all so much. There’s always a coffee or tea being offered and everyone is so sweet. I have a lot of thick, fine, curly hair and was on the hunt for a salon that could do it all for ages. It took me three or four years to find Cascal (and moving to leith!) and I’ve never looked back. They have cut, coloured, styled and treated my hair to rich brown, soft low lights, near black and now red. My hair never feels damaged and I leave the salon feeling like a new woman. I’ve trusted the Cascal team with my hair for my engagement photos, my wedding colour, my honeymoon and my hen do. I CANT recommend them enough. Some special shout outs would be (in no particular order) Cass ofc, Becca, Alden, Kayleigh, Destiny, Micaela and Jess. Sorry if I’ve misspelled these/missed anyone. Either way - BEST SALON EVER. I would (and have) recommend Cascal to friends, family, a random on the street - seriously! Love love love xx
My experience at Cascal was first class. I first notice how very elegant the salon is, understated, but classy. Most importantly, my hair was cut to perfection,. Its the best treatment I have had in a long long time, The staff are hardworking and caring. 100 percent, well done Cascal!!
