Took 10 mins for a staff member to appear @ the bar when we first arrived after that we used online ordering and table service with enough lead time (bout 10 mins again) and this was a bit better but zero atmosphere and staff were looking warm at best... food was good.
Ordered fish and chips which was really good but unfortunately was let down by bad service. Ordered food and a drink via the app. Food arrived quite quick was told we are really busy and we will get you your drink when we can. Waited a further 15 mins and then followed it up with the manager and then my drink came straight away.
Was good but service at the bar is chaotic. Everyone stands behind ppl in queue. Many ppl queue jumped due to this. Bar staff serving ppl standing right at the bar when those ppl could clearly see a queue. 30mins I stood at 1 time. I only had limited time with my person I was with. Otherwise everything great. I also think they're slow when u order from the app&get table service. Otherwise great place just so busy staff trying their hardest. Atmosphere is brill.
We visited on a Sunday evening, a group of parents and a group of teens. The adults were given a lovely wee side room away from the teens so that we each got our spaces to enjoy company. We know the menu and food available ... one of the reasons for choosing this venue. Like everywhere, you can see prices creeping up, but it is maintaining balance as an affordable easy going eatery. Parking wasn't the easiest but I am not local so didn't really know where to g for that. It was tidy and well presented, just as you would expect it to be.
Been coming here for years and recently intended to make this a staple of my week so I could meet up with friends and family over a small social meal. Unfortunately the staff didn't care that they messed up the order. We ordered items as separate dishes, ice cream (for me) and strawberries which one was to be given to a neurodivergent child but was both mixed into the one dish, while we did separate them, the little one unfortunately gagged due to the contamination of the ice cream on their portion of the meal (this was very much expected). When we complained, they didn't care and set that's how the orders are presented to the kitchen. Instead of taking it away and bringing out fresh strawberries for the little one, we were left waiting for another 20mins as it seemed they were going to do something about it but turned out they weren't so we upped and left and now look elsewhere to go.
Good food perfectly cooked, sirloin steak was perfect, had at more expensive venues but so well cooked, perfect. Amd at witherspoon prices.
Decent service and breakfast. A bit grimey and sticky. Went on Sunday morning, so perhaps not had a chance to clean after a Sat night.
Staff were amazing! But the food wasn’t great, passable if your maybe on the drinks but for my burger it wasn’t great. This could be down to it being busy. Will definitely visit again for another meal to See if it was just that
Warm and cosy round near the back, burner on to heat the place: fairly busy. Wetherspoons app wouldn't work, so off to the bar, server warm, friendly & accommodating. Curry Thursday order chicken jalfrezi, chicken tikka and 2 x grilled chicken katsu curry: curry's were nice, rice was over cooked and stuck together in lumps, poppadoms a hit or a miss, half crisp / half rubbery. Option for refill on tea and coffee.
Our go-to place to eat with kids with allergies. Staff are always friendly and helpful. The food is always of a decent standard and served promptly. Perfect for when eating out with kids!
