Had my hair coloured by Gabrielle today while they had a Wella rep in for a new product. I've never been to the salon before and it's lovely - all the girls were so kind and welcoming. I also had my 7 month old baby with me and they were all so sweet with her. My hair colour looks stunning - would highly recommend! X
I was originally booked for a Full head Semi Permanent Glossing and then once I placed the deposit realised I had opted in for a straight blow-dry, which was not my intention. On the day of the appointment I asked if the blow-dry can be omitted and was told to talk to the main hairdresser colouring my hair, but that it should not be a problem. I did just that once she'd rinsed my hair, and then she proceeded to put product on my hair, announcing I was all done after that - leaving my hair completely wet after the appointment. This was the first time something of the sorts happened to me, so I am not sure if it was a misunderstanding or just general practice at the salon that if you don't want your hair blow-dried you can't have your hair dried either. Finally, once I payed I got a receipt where the blow dry was replaced with "extra colour" which again I was not advised I needed during my consultation or my appointment, so there was £50 withdrawn from my account for one round of semi permanent glossing and a wet hair, which was disappointing.
I could not attend my appointment because I contracted Covid. The manager would not treat it as a special circumstance and charged me the full price of a haircut that I could not have. It's not that I am not committed to the booking. I was looking forward to it and would attend the appointment if it’s not for the safety of her staff, customers, and the people they are going to come in contact with. The manager could have treated this as a special circumstance but she did not. She also did not show empathy. I expected her to say something like, ‘I am sorry that you are not feeling well’, instead, she went straight to business and justify their cancellation policy. Hairdressing is not only about hairdressing, it’s about relationships too. This incident has dented our relationship. I won't be going back there.
Absolutely love getting my hair cut here. I go to Gabrielle (Andi before Gabrielle joined) and I've always loved every cut. I've been coming to the same salon now for 4.5 years having never stayed at the same place more than 3 months - says a lot!
