Fairly short and easy walk uphill from the parking next to the Harmers wood. Stunning views of Helsby town and the Mersey river estuary.

Spend so much time up the hill over the years. It has some excellent walks and the views from the top are amazing. Middle walk is a brilliant flat trail with some lovely climbs up to the top. Good parking options at the Quarry or by Harmers woods.

TL;DR 10/10 - perfect for dog walks or to come sit and relax with peace, quiet and breathtaking views. ------------------------------------------ Absolutely stunning spot to go watch the sunset, sunrise, or to just sit and enjoy the peace and quiet, whilst having the most beautiful view. Fairly easy to park (if coming by car) and the walk is extremely easy - even with our 2yo we were able to do it without any real hassle! However, it is worth noting that it's definitely not child safe when it comes to being at the peak, as it's a rocky cliff with a massive drop straight down so, if you plan on taking your little ones up here, be sure to come prepared with that in mind!

An Iron Age fort set on the edge of a sandstone ridge with breath taking 360 views of the River Mersey, Welsh hills, Cheshire plain and all along the sandstone hills towards Frodsham. Absolutely magnificent. Don’t let young children get too close to the edge. Highly recommended to visit.

Beautiful little walk. You can see for miles once up at the top. There is plenty of trails leading up, even a scramble bit too. I think they even use this area for mountain climbing practice. All in all a great walk that you can spend hours doing..

You park up at the car park for Helsby quarry. Short walk up a steep hill gets you into wilderness to explore. Further up and you are at the top with views of Cheshire and beyond overlooking Helsby. On a clear day, outlines of Liverpool cathedrals and the Welsh hills can be seen. Serene atmosphere. There are no amenities around, so fetch your own refreshments. Enjoy it and try not to spoil it for others.
