   I don’t like leaving bad reviews, but this was the worst car-service experience of my life. Maybe Treads is fine if you deal with them directly; however, via AA Smart Care it was awful. I’m leaving one star because the job took three days instead of one–two; the quotes kept going up 3 times; the garage ordered the wrong part; communication was poor; and the prices were high. I drove the car to them in good working order and was told the MOT would be done by lunchtime; it actually finished around 3pm with no proactive update — I had to chase AA and the garage. Around 5pm I learned it had failed, and then the quotes changed repeatedly: £150 for a brake hose/bulb (day one), then another £60 for brake fluid that wasn’t in the first quote (morning of day two), and later an extra £30 after the garage ordered the wrong hose (lunchtime of day two). They didn’t have the correct hose in stock yet still removed the brakes, leaving the car undriveable — effectively taking it hostage. It looks like they ordered a part, took the brakes off, then realised it was the wrong one, which bumped the price and added a full day’s delay. I asked if they could do the repair directly with me (I’d only booked the MOT via AA), but they refused and insisted it had to go through AA. In hindsight I should have gone straight to my usual garage: they quoted £130 (without MOT) and would have done it in a day, versus £250 here and three days waiting. I considered moving the car, but with the brakes removed it wasn’t roadworthy; waiting and paying the extra £30 was cheaper than towing and then paying for an MOT re-test. Based on this experience with AA Smart Care and Treads together, I can’t recommend it.

   Treads provides a five star tyre changing service plus more. I noticed I had a tyre puncture last Thursday I called treads who could fit me in 30 minutes . I was lucky to be close. 45 minutes later my puncture was repaired and the tyre fitter was the best I've ever had. Brand new alloys on my car and after the tyre fitter still brand new the best fitter I've ever seen. I've used treads for so much more from breaks, exhausts and suspension bushes. Great garage. Great price. Great service. Well Done

   Took my car to have wheel alignment done. Was quoted £45 on the phone. Charged £60 on the day. Tried to explain this to the guy on reception but fell on deaf ears. 1st time customer went on recommendation. Won’t be back. Job done well but very expensive. Noise busters charge £30 for the same job.

   I can safely say this is the best garage I’ve ever used. I came across Treads one (very rainy) evening when my windscreen wipers stopped working. They were closing but looked at my car and sorted me out so I could get home safely. After how kind and helpful they were, I chose to travel from Edinburgh to use them for my MOT. They were quick to get the repairs done on the car, and went the extra mile to get the parts needed for a reasonable price. The absolute best service I’ve had at a garage so far, would highly recommend

   Got tyres from here. Staff were friendly, got some mid range Falkens at a reasonable price. A bit of a delay getting taken but they were busy. I would recommend this place.
