   Okay…why do I shop chain versus independent…..I very much like Independent shops, shopping this Aldi was a good experience, first hour in Portobello neighborhood..tired after a long commute from West Kilbride….bought some berries, milk, yoghurt, salmon pieces, a heavily marbled salt aged rib eye ( yummy), salad greens and tomatoes..only spent 20.00!!!! Freindly’ service, clean store, available self check out..location…..highly. Recommended

   Aldi Portobello 'fresh produce' so foul you wouldn't serve it to an animal. Bag of 1.5 kg carrots purchased yesterday. Opened this morning. Every single carrot is black, bruised, so wet they have turned to sludge. Completely wasted through. They stink like rotting food. Clearly so old, handled so badly and have been stored in refrigeration for that long that they are COMPLETELY inedible. How is this acceptable by you Aldi. You are wrong for ripping off your customers, selling produce like this knowing it is WELL beyond its use by date.. evidently attempting to hide this obvious fact by no long displaying a recommended use by date on your packaging. 'Love Food Hate Waste' says your packaging. No recommended use by date. It's deceitful! Completely false advertising. I doubt any one of you would be willing to serve this up at your dinner table. This is not the first time my family have paid full price for rotten Aldi produce in recent times. Hence this review.

   Farm foods very good this is the south side of the city minutes away from the city centre, you can't go wrong here plenty shop's can be very much busy there's public transport here that can take you anywhere so you might be wise to get a taxi and your only minutes away from the train station or if you have plans you can get a bus to the airport or the trams.
