Lucian was amazingly helpful - five star service. Super helpful. Will definitely shop here again.

The staff member’s behaviour was completely unnecessary and honestly quite surprising. We walked into the store with the simple intention of browsing a few items, comparing some options, and taking our time before deciding what to buy. It was a normal shopping trip, and nothing about our behaviour should have raised any concerns. At first, everything felt completely ordinary. We moved through a few aisles, looked at different products, and even discussed some of the things we were considering purchasing. We weren’t rushing, but we weren’t standing around aimlessly either—just normal browsing, like anyone else who comes in to shop. After we’d been there for a short while, a staff member approached us and told us that we were “lingering too long.” The comment caught us off guard, because we were doing nothing unusual. We genuinely thought he might be joking at first, or maybe misunderstood what we were doing, because we hadn’t been in the store that long and were clearly focused on the items in front of us. Instead of asking if we needed help or offering assistance like most employees would, he began hovering around us. Wherever we moved, he stayed only a few steps behind, watching us closely. It wasn’t subtle—his behaviour felt intentional, as if he had already decided we were up to something, even though we were simply browsing the shelves. As time went on, the atmosphere became more and more uncomfortable. Each time we tried to look at something, he would shift position to keep us in his line of sight. It got to the point where we couldn’t properly read a label or compare items without feeling like we were being monitored for no reason. It made the entire shopping experience feel tense and awkward. Then, without any warning or explanation, he told us that we needed to leave the store because he “didn’t like the way we were acting.” We were genuinely shocked. There was no raised voice, no suspicious behaviour, no touching merchandise improperly—nothing that could possibly justify being told to leave. It felt like he had made up his mind about us from the start. He went on to say he could call the manager and even mentioned involving security if we didn’t leave immediately. We stayed calm and simply asked what store policy we had supposedly violated. Instead of giving a clear answer, he hesitated and suddenly backed down from the idea of calling anyone, which made the whole situation feel even more unreasonable and inconsistent. Despite backing down from his threats, his tone became louder and more aggressive. He began repeating, “You need to leave now,” raising his voice each time. At that point, we decided it was best to walk out rather than let the situation escalate further or disrupt other customers who were shopping nearby. Overall, the entire encounter left a very negative impression. If customers can be treated like this simply for browsing at their own pace, it raises serious concerns about the training and professionalism of the staff at this Decathlon. It reflects poorly on the management if behaviour like this is tolerated or goes unaddressed.

It was GIOVANNI who sorted out our order issues. He is naturally calm and genuinely pleasant. He de-stressed our shopping experience. I’m sure (let’s hope) Decathlon understands that good systems and products are necessary but insufficient without those special professional retail staff who make customers want to come back again.

I recently went to Decathlon to have my bike repaired and was very pleased. The work was done well and the bike is now like new. I was particularly pleasantly surprised by the cost of the services - they are significantly cheaper than other places in Guildford. Excellent value for money! I recommend them.

I visited Decathlon to buy some hiking stuff and the products were really amazing and good quality. The staff was also very humble and sweet especially Mehak who helped me with ordering things weren’t available in the store. Totally worth it!

Decathlon in Guildford is a great shop for purchasing sports equipment. They have most sports covered and the staff are friendly and helpful. The returns policy is excellent.

Poor that cash isn’t an option for people purchasing. Appreciate people ideally want people to use card but cash should always be an option in all stores.

I really like this store. Prices are very reasonable, selection is good, ordering from the website is easy and the staff are genuinely friendly and helpful. I can't give it 5 stars though because of the location - while it's great that it is central, I find it onerous, parking and walking though this part of Guildford is low-grade torture on anything other than a Monday or Tuesday.
