   If it weren't for competitive prices, I would never shop at Sports Direct. Customer service is poor, mostly because of indifferent staff. My recent experience yesterday Me (Showing a product code of Adidas shoes from sports direct website): Can you please check if you have these in stock? Staff 1: Sorry I can't. I need the exact colour code! Me to payment till staff: can you please find someone to help me find these pair of shoes? Staff 2: It is not possible because our systems can't keep track of stockS. You see we sell things very quickly and systems cannot cope with it!!! Me to Staff 3: Can you please help me find these shoes? Staff 3 slightly more helpful and pointed me to the section. I found two pairs next to each other. Asked her for size 11. She checked but not in stock. I asked her if the second pair was in stock. Her response (very curt): Well, you didn't ask me to check for this pair. Me: I am asking now... Can you please check. This is typical of every time I am in the store. Firstly there are hardly any staff available to help. If they do respond to you, it is always as if they are doing you a favour.

   I had an amazing experience at Sports Direct thanks to Junior. He was incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely listened to what I needed. Junior helped me find the perfect fitting shoes with patience and a warm smile the entire time. His willingness to help and friendly attitude made my visit so much easier and more enjoyable. Truly outstanding customer service thank you, Junior.

   I’ve been standing around for half an hour waiting for someone to help me check trainer sizes. There were two or three staff members putting stock out, but none of them were trained to assist customers. Surely, serving customers should be a higher priority than stocking shelves — it’s a no-brainer. After several attempts to get help, I went to the till, where I believe the manager was serving a customer and told me to wait. Honestly, what cheek! If you want to waste your time, this is the place to come.

   Really shocking service. Asked the ground staff to bring out 2 pairs of trainers for my son, which showed available on the system. 25minutes later was told both were not available. Asked if manager could check if other stores had it available in stock. Was told that the manager can only check but she was on her break and to check at the counter. Waited in queue for the counter and when asked if they could check; 1. If available (as wasn’t convinced someone had checked), 2. If they could check with other stores. I was told that they were new and to go back to shop floor again. Another colleague intervened at this stage and said systems on Sunday are not always up to date so this happens and they couldn’t checked another store as it was the weekend, showing no empathy. The store needs to definitely address how to address customers politely and also how to upgrade their computer systems to the 21st century to ensure inventory is kept up to date.

   I got what I needed with ease. Great products at affordable prices. A queue formed at the till but no extra staff were called onto the tills to aid waiting time. The lady that served me was polite but very short and to the point. A smile would have been nice!

   If you're having a good day and feel guilty for being happy then go to Sports Direct in Valley Park for a dose of pure doom and gloom !! I went there today to buy my son some football boots. After choosing 3 pairs I asked an "assistant" (that's false advertising for a start) if she could help me and get me the boots in size 5. She said - please wait and walked off to the back of the store.....never to return. After about 10 minutes I saw another employee and went over to ask her for help. As I asked for the boots in a size 5 she looked at me with a blank expression and continued to pretend reading a label on the shelf. I naturally assumed she didn't hear me, so I repeated myself. Again, no response from her, and she walked passed me as if I didn't exist. I've worked in retail for almost 25 years so I've had my fair share of difficult customers. But I was as polite as possible and felt embarrassed standing in the middle of the store clutching 3 football boots. It's not the most glamorous place to work and I get people do have bad days, but there's no excuse for being out right rude and lazy / incompetent in doing your job. So avoid this place at all costs.....unless you have sado-masochistic tendencies. Had to give a 1 star review because there's no option to give zero stars !!

   Very very bad customer service. I bought clothing worth £40 and when I went to return the products they denied the return because I had misplaced the tickets. I gave them the exact time of purchase, the till I shopped at but they said they couldn’t accept the return or let me even exchange it. I was ready to shop something immediately but no they said nothing could be done. Horrible experience, never stepping again.

   Awful. Just awful. Lack of staff. Those that are there are overworked, underpaid and don't care about their customers or serving them. Waited 20 minutes to try and buy some trainers before I gave up. WILL ONLY GIVE STORE CREDIT ON RETURNS !!! If possible stay away. Sutton store is sooooo much better.
