We come here alot and like the library and cafe however the pool is too cold for toddlers my child always gets blue lips and we have to leave early. I think this is a money saving measure. Heard a mother and baby complain of the coldness to a lifeguard and were told to go to loanhead instead- so if you have children you might want to take his advice until they increase by a few degrees!

Pool is good, gym is ok but low quality. Now refurbishing - makes sense as twice as expensive as other gym options. BUT! They closed down for 6 weeks and there are no alternatives! All other tonezone is like a personal garage gym in your home, and some doesnt even open before 8am! At least they should have given us better options before closing down for 6 weeks!

I have been using Lasswade centre regularly for a few years now and I really enjoy it. The reception staff are lovely. Michelle’s aqua classes, step classes and weights classes are amazing. After years of failing at several exercises I’ve come to realise it’s not the class, it’s the instructor that makes all the difference and Michelle is amazing. She is encouraging, real and motivating, knowing the perfect balance when to give a gentle push to do better and giving praise when you get it right. Her sense of humour and her energy never fails to make us all smile. She provides a relaxed, fun and safe environment to work out in and makes us all feel included and part of her team. There is always good banter that even some lifeguards and members of the public can’t help but join in as they pass. Her classes are fun and extremely rewarding. As a bonus the gym is getting an upgrade this winter which is great!

I have only used the gym so cannot comment on other facilities offered. However..... Come on Midlothian council, this place needed a refurbishment years ago. A gym with a carpet? A stained, dirty threadbare one at that, which looks like it was fitted circa 1980. The machines are old and outdated, some which have dusty out of order signs hanging off them. The free weights area is tired but usable. It has two free standing lifting cages, albeit with wobbly torn benches. There are plenty discs ranging from 2.5kg to 20kg. There are enough Olympic bars to go around too. The dumbell rack ranges from a few kilos to 50kg. There is also a plate loaded pull down and a plate loaded row machine. The other "Tone Zones' in Midlothian aren't really any better, old and tired. The whole oufit could do with a rebrand and refurb. On the plus side, the staff are always helpful and accommodating. Come on though Midlothian council, spend some money on our leisure centres, they are in dire need. Edinburgh Leisure can do it, why can't you?

Lovely spacious centre for all ages. Lots for everyone to do sports etc . Cafe and library just chill if you prefer play areas for kids of all ages.

We seem to be up here all the time with clubs for kids, or visiting the library, or going swimming. During school hours access is restricted to certain areas, as you’d expect. There’s a huge range of things here, for many activities. You’re best to look at the website if you’re new and wondering what’s available. Do be aware, the gents toilets are pretty rank…

Nice big warm pool, however the cubicles and toilets would benefit from a deep clean.

I hosted my little one's birthday party in Lasswade center and it was great. Very reasonable price. The place is spacious and has everything we need. Everyone had so much fun. All the staff have been super helpful! Thanks very much!
