   We visit Edinburgh every year and now have a favourite new hotel to stay in! It's central, just over South Bridge at the end of the Royal Mile, so perfectly placed to see the castle, dynamic Earth and the Old Town. Its about a 10 minute walk from Princes Street and the shopping area. The hotel has parking on a first come, first served and its really reasonably priced £18 per 24 hours. The rooms were especially clean and had a clean smell. We stayed in 237 and it really well kept. Your facing the street and I personally have no issues with this. There's cobbles on the street outside and it was quiet in regard to people walking, but buses and cars do travel along it throughout the night...I found it quite relaxing listening to the cars bumping along. Checkout and check in was easy and pleasant. Really recommend

   We first arrived on wednesday paid extra to enter early to one room. Then left to do some shopping with the teen. The arrived at the hotel hand had to wait 15 minutes at the reception 2 members of staff at the bar servince took on of them about 10 minute to acknowledge we were waiting, another gentleman had been waiting a little longer than us. We entred the 2nd room, was a bit smaller than usual but it was a bed for a couple of nights. The curtains were broken and wouldn't close so light came in all night. The bed was old and springs digging in to my back. Dust in the door frame looked like it hadn't been cleaned for months. Room was warm which was lovely after being out in the cold exploring. 1st night at the bar was loud but didnt really bother us, Breakfast was a little cold but we ate. There was no decafe tea options and I dont drink coffee so had juice instead. Off we went to a show we were down for and when we got back to the hotel service was really bad. We again had to wait no one at the bar, the girl kept disappearing long waits to be served and hardly any one in the bar area. Ordered a passion fruit martini, which came from A CAN and put in a shaker with ice leaving shards of ice in the glass, this was returned and swapped for another drink. No toilet roll in the toilets it had been placed on the sink area beside the door and only seen when someone went to check on one of our party who was stuck in the loo. We left hotel next day amd made or journey home

   I was initially given the room key to someone else's room. I walked into the room to find someone's belongings open across the bed. As a female solo traveller, this didn't make me feel safe and I wasn't reassured by the receptionist that this was a one-off whatsoever. I could have taken everything from this room if I wanted to, or someone could have been in there. The fact that this can happen is totally unacceptable. I barricaded my door at night and locked all of my stuff up when I was out, because I didn't know if the receptionist's lack of shock meant that this hadn't happened a few times before. Sadly, the rest of my stay wasn't great. The individual on the front desk during the day was rude and had zero time for a smile. The room I was given (unoccupied by another guest, thankfully), smelled of BO and just didn't feel clean. There is no luggage storage, so I was given some half-hearted instructions that I had to pay £4 to keep my luggage in a back room of a convenience shop opposite the hotel. There is clearly no safe system here, as when I later went back to collect my luggage, they didn't check that the number on my receipt matched that on my suitcase. I could have taken as many suitcases as I wanted - not safe at all. The hotel is fine for a couple of nights, where you'll be out exploring this beautiful city, but I won't be recommending you stay here.

   Great room, very centrally located, excellent for the price. No bar, restaurant or breakfast room, but you can purchase a breakfast pack from reception. Room fresh & very good for the price. Only disappointment was the shower - more of a trickle than a shower, very poor pressure. Staff were welcoming & friendly.

   Booked family room, 2 adults 1 child. Room was spacious and was in perfect location for holiday. 10 minute walk from train station, as it was close to royal mile we could walk the length of it easily and not worry about walking back to hotel. Plenty of cafes nearby for food / drink. Room was by road which goes quiet in the evening so don't have to worry about being awake at night. Could see Arthur's seat from room which was great, and could look at the beautiful architecture of the buildings.

   This was a clean and tidy travel lodge The rooms were clean and tidy, Tea and coffee in the room with a vending machine in reception area. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel has a very small car park and would suggest having an alternative location in mind due to a very good chance it will be full there are 2 NCP car parks within walking distance. Lifts were available to all floors Breakfast and bar available on site but we did not use so unable to comment on these. Hotel location as perfect for visiting the city 4 starts only due to having a poor nights sleep but could be personal preference as the bed was on the hard side for me

   I’ve stayed here twice now when visiting Edinburgh and I couldn’t have found a better place. Clean, lovely spacious room, comfy bed we even had a nice view although this is probably dependent on which room you get of course. Staff were helpful and nice. And in the most perfect location being only a 4 min walk from Edinburgh Waverley Train Station and 20 seconds from the Royal Mile. If you’re looking for somewhere to stay in Edinburgh stay here.

   Good hotel, well priced, very conveniently placed next to the Royal mile. Could do with some maintenance though both inside and out - room I was in was good but noted things like slight mould starting on the bathroom doorway. Staff were very welcoming and attentive. I will definitely be booking here in the future when I'm next in Edinburgh

   Really excellent stay. No issues at all and staff were very helpful and friendly. My girlfriend was quite ill unfortunately but they have a 24/7 front desk so I could get her an extra blanket and a couple other things she needed. They held our bags and got us a temporary key for the loo for before we left (since we had checked out already). Room was clean and tidy and had a kettle with complimentary tea and coffee (it was a bit stale but still nice to have provided)

   From when we arrived, we had a great welcome by a lady (think she said she was from Mexico) with an amazing sense of humour. Room was clean and had decent views. When we were leaving, the staff seemed disinterested and off. Pity the first lady wasn't on shift the whole time, she was amazing.
