Went for lunch on boxing day. Had cauliflower as the starter, cheese burger for the main and sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Food was ok and the service exceedingly slow. It took so long to order dessert we had to go to them. Same with the bill. Staff were pleasant enough, just not enough of them to provide a good service.
Sorry! I am writing to express my deep disappointment and distress regarding the service I received. I would like to ask clearly: was this self-service? If so, why was there no sign? I asked staff but received no clear answer. I saw staff walk past my table repeatedly and serve drinks to other tables, yet I was not served. You left the glass and expected me to take it myself, while all other guests were served at their tables. Why was I the only guest who had to serve myself? All other guests received table service, except me. This treatment felt extremely unfair and discriminatory. You could clearly see that I have difficulty walking, yet no assistance was offered. I felt looked down upon and treated with clear disrespect, bordering on discrimination. I also noticed staff laughing and looking at me with a friend, which made me feel unwelcome and humiliated. After I was forced to walk to get the glass by myself, it slipped from my hand and broke on the floor. Only after that did you bring me a new glass of wine to my table. However, the glass was clearly dirty. It appeared to have just been washed and had not been wiped or properly cleaned at all. There were many visible water droplets on the outside of the glass, and even the bottom of the glass, which was placed directly on the table, had obvious stains. Serving a dirty glass in this condition felt like deliberate mistreatment. I strongly feel that this was not an accident, but an act of harassment or retaliation. Bringing a glass that had just been washed, without any drying or proper cleaning, is unacceptable and deeply insulting. I attempted to get your attention by waving to a female staff member who was standing with a male colleague. I only wanted her to come and see the condition of the glass. You clearly saw me calling, yet no one came to assist me. Instead, you walked away. Is this truly the standard of service at a world-class hotel brand? I feel deeply disappointed, humiliated, and extremely saddened by the way I was treated. This experience left me feeling discriminated against because of my disability. I will be sharing this experience in a public review so that your team and management are aware of what happened.
Usually a nice stay here but this year the cleanliness of the rooms wasn’t as good. We had a very large unknown stain on our carpet and on the walls, the bed paneling was thick with dust too. For the cost for one night here you would expect they could replace a bit carpet to keep the rooms looking a bit fresher.
I had a fantastic stay at this hotel in North Queensferry. The room was amazing — spacious, clean, and incredibly comfortable, with a bed that made it hard to get up in the morning. The restaurant was another highlight; the food was truly top-notch and worth every bite. If you can, definitely choose a room with a view of the bridge. It’s absolutely stunning and adds something special to the whole experience. Parking is available, but finding a spot on the weekends can be a bit challenging, so it’s worth keeping that in mind. Aside from that, the staff and service were exactly what you’d expect from a hotel of this brand: professional, attentive, and consistently helpful. Overall, a wonderful stay in a beautiful location.
Great hotel but not the standard you would expect for the name and the price. The view was at unkept bushes and there was a random fire alarm test done in the middle of the day with no advance warning. It was great that the room had a fridge but no complementary water even tap water would be nice. Bed sheets with quality but pillows were flat and awful. Thankfully firmer pillows were provided on rewauest that were a little better. Could do with a little more attention to detail throughout.
Stylish rooms, great showers, comfy bed, delicious breakfast with a fantastic view of the queensferry crossing and friendly receptionists. What more could you ask for. Top notch stay.
Great spot to end a holiday. Great view of the 4th bridge crossing. Good restaurant in the lobby and perfect location for access to fuel before returning our rental to the airport.
The hotel was amazing. They gave us a room with nice views to the bridges and a warm welcome cookie. The personal was friendly. The bus stop is 5’ by feet.
The staff were just superb through the entire stay and we were shocked by how excellent the food was in the restaurant. The prawn and pulled pork spiced donut and seared scallop with duck confit were exceptional, as was the homemade cranberry brown bread, which we devoured to the last crumb.
One of the best hotels I've come across in the past few years. Everything is great, the view astonishing, spacious rooms, friendly staff, great breakfast, good cappuccino etc. If you don't have to be in the city center, you want to pick this hotel. The only sad back is, that if you want to visit the center of Edinburgh, it takes about 30 min with a cab.
