Such a painful experience. Great when it comes to buying something but then it doesn’t arrive and they don’t refund you. They lie, done answer emails or phones and still Owe me money - I never even got the sofa after spending £6k. Hayley in customer service is particularly unhelpful and rude.
Major problems with Loaf. Two weeks ago today they delivered a damaged sofa to us for the second time. I reported this immediately but in the two weeks since the only communication with them has been when I called them. They do not answer emails and over the last two days I have spent almost three hours on hold trying to get through to their customer service team. It is totally unacceptable for any organisation to treat their customers this way, never mind an expensive furniture retailer.
The staff in the shop are great, always ready to help you. But the quality of the sofa that you get is NOT the same as what you see in the shop. We spent £7000 on a sofa and the cushions are extremely uneven. We asked for them to come out and inspect as it was still in the warranty period, to which they claimed there was nothing wrong with the sofa. The man who came out said this is common practice that you don’t get what you saw in the shop. Very disappointed with the end result and were stuck with a sofa, that we would never have bought had it looked like this in the store. Save your money and buy elsewhere.

One of the standout aspects of our experience was the exceptional customer service provided by the store manager and his staff. They were incredibly friendly and took the time to genuinely understand our needs and requirements. It's refreshing to deal with someone who is not just trying to make a sale but is genuinely interested in helping you find the perfect furniture for your home. Another nice touch was the provision of free material swatches. These swatches allowed us to take home samples and compare them with other elements in our new open plan home extension and kitchen renovation. It's these little details that set Loaf apart and make the buying process much more enjoyable and stress-free. Now, regarding the furniture itself. We purchased two large Brioche sofas and one Squishbag Occasional Chair, and the quality of build and materials is truly impressive. These pieces not only look great, but they also feel sturdy and comfortable. It's evident that Loaf takes pride in crafting furniture that's built to last and withstand the test of time. The only minor hiccup in an otherwise flawless experience was the delivery process. Unfortunately, the delivery people were not aware that the two large Brioche sofas needed to be assembled on delivery. It's a minor point, and while it would have been helpful for Loaf's communication to be clearer to them in this regard, it didn't overshadow the overall positive experience. In conclusion, we are delighted with our new additions from Loaf. The store's layout, the quality of their furniture, and the outstanding customer service from the manager all contributed to a memorable shopping experience. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Loaf in Edinburgh to anyone in search of high-quality, stylish furniture for their home.
Hi, with in 5 minutes of being in the shop at straighton I noticed you can have any size sofa, chair in any colour & fabric with swatches you can take home for FREE. Then ordered our new sofa & chair in the colours & material we loved. Only in 20 minutes all together done & dusted ordered, delivery in 3/4 weeks. Also can remove your old sofa if want. Thank you loaf making choosing a new sofa so easy
Buying a sofa in-store was an unusually pleasant experience. Allan, one of the salespeople, was really helpful but also as laid-back as the sofas which made a nice change from typical pushy salespeople (thanks Allan!) - he offered me optional extras but didn't go with a hard sell which actually made me consider them more. The store is nicely laid out and has info stands with detailed information on each sofa, including measurements, fabrics, legs and prices for every combination - the info sheets are available to take away with you so you can make a decision later. There are loads of swatches available in store to take home with you to ponder and there are large (almost 1m²) swatches (not for taking) so you can get a proper feel for what it would look like on your sofa. Best furniture buying experience I've ever had.
As soon as entering the store we’re greeted with a warm welcome. Reece who was the assistant who helped us with style of sofa/fabric/cushions was so helpful and knowledgeable and made for a relaxing and confident purchase, so thank you so much Reece! Also got a free throw, woohoo!!!
This is my husband and my second visit to a Loaf Shack and once again we have nothing but praise for the staff. All were courteous, helpful and informed. This time we purchased 3 items of furniture and Alan, badged as a trainee but obviously very near the end of his training, was so patient and thorough in assisting us. The layout of the new Edinburgh store was excellent with plenty of activities to keep small ones amused and plenty room for big ones to browse. Amanda
We were extremely pleased with our recent visit to Loaf in Edinburgh. Staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. The store has a lovely atmosphere and people are free to browse at their leisure. Top marks!
