   Room was big and cozy with an Edinburgh vibe - but poor communication and cleanliness spoiled the stay The hotel has a beautiful Edinburgh vibe and a charming atmosphere. However, my experience was disappointing. I didn't receive the key code 24 hours before check-in as promised, and I couldn't contact the property even after calling several times. They finally replied only a few hours before check-in, which made me feel uneasy. The bathroom wasn't clean, the shower pressure was very weak and leaking, and the bathtub didn't look clean either. With better communication and cleanliness, this place could be so much nicer

   If you’re looking for somewhere central, this place is ideal. However, the rooms are quite dated and feel like a bit of a mix-and-match of furniture. Our room was also in need of a proper dust and hoover, which was disappointing. That said, the bathroom in our room was extremely clean, which was a definite plus. (I didn’t check the shared bathroom on the first floor.) The price felt a little steep at £121 for one night, especially considering the room was only supplied with two pillows for two people and just one mug for the tea and coffee facilities. Overall, the location is excellent, but it’s a real shame about the standard of the room.

   We are a 60+ couple that travelled half way across the world to attend a night time showing of the Military Tattoo. Prices for Hotels close to the Castle during the Festival are understandable through the roof. So even with the bad reviews for the Hotel we took the chance thinking location ,price and it was only for a night. Yes most of the reviews are accurate, we had room 1, we heard the front door open like they were coming into our room, the room is dated and we'll in need of a major upgrade. Body wash dispenser broken, shower tiny, and Communication just to see if we could drop off luggage was near impossible. BUT !!. it served the exact purpose we required. A cheap 1 night stay during the Edinburgh Festival, walkable which was the big plus from the Edinburgh Castle after a 11pm finish. We did the easy walk in less than 15 min using goggle maps, and remember we are 60 +. Just that only,made the stay worth it. Would I stay longer than 1 night NO, would I stay there again if I could get a room away from the front door yes.

   We arrived in the room and there were no towels. We requested them through the Booking.com chat, and they replied saying the laundry was delayed that day, but the towels would arrive by 8:00 PM. We came back at midnight, but the towels still hadn’t been delivered to the room. Instead, we found that someone had eaten our food — in the photos, you can clearly see that the brioche was bitten, and not by a mouse, but by a person. The room is a dump: the carpet is dirty and full of hair, and the shower tray in the bathroom had black stains on it (photos attached). The most disturbing thing was a door connected to another room right next to the bathroom. I honestly can’t even describe it — I took a video. You can decide for yourself whether or not you want to “sleep” in this place.

   Easy enough to get to and figure out. Room is ok, bed was good ..pillows hard as a brick. Several chairs in room......... The room smelled mouldy or musty, probably due to the probably due to the cowboy installation of a bathroom in the corner of the room.

   Very dirty . Room was very small . Carpets was filthy hadnt been vacuumed. Drawers in bedroom and bathroom was full of kids dirty socks and ladies sanitary products . Worsr place we have ever stayed in . Very 1980s decor, smelly and didnt feel safe . Disgusting. Avoid this place .

   The room was nice and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast offered was ok. Unfortunately, the room service wasn't perfect. The shampoo wasn't replaced and we had to ask in the reception. Also, the curtains didn't block completely the light from the windows.

   Room N°1 located on the ground-floor, next to the entrance door, quite small for 3 persons,  but since you spent most of the time outside it's ok. Enough hooks around to get your clothes or towels hanging, a nice coffee/tea corner is warming you up after a long day waking around, usb charger right next your bed. The shower is challenging but if you read the instructions you'll be fine Edinburgh has a lot to offer, sightseeings etc, and a good night sleep is priceless. Unfortunately the bedding have poor quality, the pillows hard as a bone. During the night the heating is turned off! Why? The radiator was stone cold, remember the room is located on the ground-floor, we were awake at different time of the night because it was cold. Suggestions: -The little sofa is pretty, but take some space away, put a bench unstead so we can put our luggages, think of bedbugs. -Pls invest in proper bedding -during Fall,Winter pls leave the heating on during the night. Thanks

   This place dirty, neglected and very small. If you look at the room it looks like a place for homeless people than a 4 star guest house. I do not advise anyone to book it as it a waste of money. Extermly disappointing as it had a very high score when I booked it on booking .com. They should review the classification of this guest house and downgrade it. I definately feel conned for booking this place.
