We booked this location on Booking.com. Everything went quite smoothly and we were very happy of our choice, up until when we received a message from the owner company (which I think is called Joicy), requesting us either to cancel our booking or to relocate to a different location from the same company (which was significantly lower quality than the one we booked). The reason offered for this was that their "system" generated overbooking. However, the room (or other rooms in the same location) still figured as available on booking.com. After a couple of back and forths with the staff, where we continued to say that we did not want to relocate or cancel, they agreed to issue a cancellation themselves through booking.com, which we accepted as we did not want to fight further. Of course, we will get a full refund (which is the bare minimum) considering that we did not want to change accomodation and that, considering that the room was still available on booking, I don't believe that overbooking was there (at least not on booking.com alone). I would have loved to stay at the hotel to leave a good review, as I was looking forward to stay there.

Lots of issues. The front door is extremely difficult to open. After staff advised me to “use more force," I ended up injuring my fingers (and it's quite challenging to open without hurting yourself). The frustrating thing here is that previous reviews mention this issue - and management doesn’t seem to care. They advised me to try harder, which ended up with me cutting and bruising my fingers. The bathroom door doesn’t close properly. If you value privacy, this apartment isn't for you (also noticed this in a previous review.) The apartment is not clean, with noticeable stains on the walls and carpets. (as pictured.) The window by the bed does not close fully (as pictured) the stairs to the upstairs apartments are right outside where people smoke, not a nice thing to wake up to. Given all these issues, the apartment is overpriced. It’s a shame because the location is great and the apartment has potential. It’s obvious this place is just a cash grab for the owners. The service team has been understanding, but it looks like they can't really do much. The lack of care and maintenance is clear. We’re paying 269 EUR per night (incl. 80€ cleaning fee), and we end up with this disaster. I’d take my chances anywhere else.

The only thing good about this place is the location. The room we rented was insanely dusty, dust on every surface and plant. You have to use an electric key via a link to get into the apartment and the front main door. The link stopped working half way through. I called to ask for the door codes multiple times and was told they couldn’t give them to me. Finally, they gave them to me (not sure why it couldn’t have been in the beginning). The kitchen wasn’t stocked with paper towels etc, and only 1 roll of loo paper. I would have expected there to be more basics. For the money you are paying you might as well stay in a hotel with amenities

Word of warning: We would never have booked this apartment if we had known it had keyless entry that required an internet connection. Traveling on holiday with no data plan, our stay could have been an utter disaster, had we not lucked out with a unit at the front of the building that had WiFi that just barely reached the street. Otherwise, it was a well appointed apartment with a lovely view in a great location.

I’m currently staying here for the last 2 nights. I booked for a business trip. And no hot water since I arrived, can’t even change the heating, room is all the time very cold when I’m in it. I told them to fix the issue and here I go without being able warm up or clean after two days since the heating system doesn’t respond to any of my commands. I travel all the time and this is the first time I have no water shower and at least have a room which is more than 17 degrees.

Very beautiful appartment and nice decorative, the rooms was really good size and very comfortable, near to attractive places, it would be more useful if there provid washing machine, I like the small kitchen and everything looks new, the appartment was in ground floor and it is near to new main street and next to new shop so it is little noisy at night.

While the interior and facility may have been lovely, the customer service policy was quite unfathomable. After being charged for $17686 for 50 nights, I accidentally cancelled the reservation on the App on the 21st day. I kindly inquired ALTIDO for an ‘un-cancellation’ or a refund, yet they dismissed my request and the unit became fully booked after the cancellation. The reservation lasted for 25 nights ($707.44 per day on average), and as a "gesture of good faith" ALTIDO approved an extended stay for several days as I needed to re-reserve and relocate to another apartment to stay until the end of August. After the relocation, I requested for a partial refund ($100 could have been fine), yet they declined my request.

A surprisingly nice apartment. Full of amenities, elegant and in a convenient location. Definately go there again.

Absolutely loved our stay at 29 Queen St Edinburgh. The apartment was the nicest I have ever stayed in. Very well appointed and the location was central to everything. Beautifully decorated and bed was super comfortable. Amazing shower and loved the compact kitchen area. Couldn’t fault it at all. Amazing restaurants and cafes within a 5 min walk. Check in was extremely straight forward. I would definitely recommend a stay here and will be returning again the next time I am in Edinburgh. Thank you Altido.

Absolutely loved our stay at 29 Queen Street in Edinburgh for my birthday. The room was beautiful and the kitchen stocked with everything we needed. The location of the building couldn't be better, and we'll definitely be staying here again on our next trip. The only feedback I have is that it could do with providing a couple more pillows, as we were only supplied with one each and would have preferred two. Also, a hypoallergenic option wouldn't go amiss (as lovely as down bedding is).
