The place was spotless and surprisingly well-organized, just like a five-star hotel. Cleanliness comes first for me, and this property exceeded my expectations. The housekeeping service was excellent — we returned from exploring the city to find our room sparkling clean, as if we were checking in for the first time. There were both a washing machine and a dishwasher, and even better, they provided detergent capsules for each. When we arrived, there was fresh daily milk in the fridge. Tea and coffee options were ready in the kitchen. Everything was thoughtfully prepared. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. If I visit this city again, I will definitely stay here. Booked this for my family of five in August. Check in was at Four but they stored our bags when we arrived at three. The room was on the top floor which meant using the old elevator (it worked but was a little rickety.) We were told there was no air conditioning in the apartment so we left the windows open at night. When we awoke sweating it was still 27 degrees and all the radiators were hot. We asked the attendant to have a look and he switched over the heater. After that the room was tolerable with the windows open. The room size was great. Although most things in the rooms were dated they all worked well. The location was close to many things including a grocery store and restaurants. Easy to get to the big tourist attractions from here. I would recommend this serviced apartment.

We had an amazing stay at The Knight Residence by Mansley. The rooms are quiet and rather well-maintained, and the apartment was spacious enough for a family of four. The apartment comes with a washing machine, which is ideal for those who wish to stay longer here. Although it’s a bit warm at night due to the recent heat wave, the helpful staff supplied us with an electric fan to cool the apartment down.

This was a fantastic place to stay. There were 5 of us, each needing our own bed, so we had the 3 bedroom. Could probably have gotten the 2 bedroom because the pullout sofa was good and one of us ended up choosing to sleep on that instead of on a twin. Regardless, the apartment was fantastic! HUGE. Living room, dining room, kitchen, 2 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms. It was VERY clean. The location was great. Yes, as you'll see from other reviews there are a few strip clubs around, but it was a lovely area and safe. As 5 women, we're always aware of things like that. Never heard any noise at night. Just the pigeons one morning cooing outside our window. A short walk to pretty much anywhere in Old Town. Staff at the desk were friendly and helpful. If I go back to Edinburgh, I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

My recent stay at The Knight by Mansley was incredibly disappointing and far from the comfortable experience I'd hoped for. This hotel has some serious issues that need addressing. Firstly, there's no air conditioning, which makes the room uncomfortably warm, especially during the night. Compounding this, the water temperature in the shower was a constant battle – it was either scalding hot or freezing cold, never settling on a comfortable temperature, and the water often came out hot and cold at the same time. This made showering an incredibly frustrating and unpleasant experience. Beyond the major comfort issues, there were several small but noticeable oversights. We were not provided with butter, water bottles, or a tea strainer, which are basic amenities one would expect. Furthermore, the washroom lacked a jet spray, which is a standard convenience in many accommodations. Overall, the lack of basic amenities and the significant issues with water temperature made for a very uncomfortable and inconvenient stay. I do not recommend The Knight by Mansley.

Stayed here on my first holiday to Scotland in the summer of 2011. My daughters camera was stolen out of the room while we were away to eat. We Immediately reported it to the management and they instantly refused to believe us. They wouldn’t call the employee in. The only employee to clean our room was conveniently off the next day. I wouldn’t stay here again if they paid me too. Lying and thieving crooks. Beware of your belongings

While I wasn’t impressed with our apartment, the assistant manager Pawel and receptionist Chelsea are outstanding. They have gone above and beyond for us. The company Mansley seems poorly run and customer service by the main headquarters is lacking. We thank Pawel and Chelsea for their professionalism and outstanding service!

Absolutely shocking service from this so called 5 star residency. My family and I were meant to be staying here for our first trip since covid. Our flight was cancelled as we were sat in the airport. This establishment refused to refund the £753 we had paid due to their terms and conditions. Staff attitude was extremely poor, lacked empathy or any understanding due to the stress and upset this has caused. Hasn’t this country been through enough already? Without this couldn’t care less attitude. People work hard for their money and then receive appalling customer service from large companies who frankly have no respect or consideration for what people have experienced. The attitude I had was “computer says no”. Following on from your response which was extremely predictable You did not in my opinion act in an empathetic manner. You had the ability to refund the whole amount. 50% is not what we paid. We did not receive what we paid for the stay back. Also you fail to address the bad customer service that I received from your assistant manager - he literally couldn’t care less. In my opinion to which I am completely entitled. Your business acted not in the best interest of your customers. I know what I booked through booking.com I am fully aware of the terms and conditions but when your flight is cancelled an hour before you’re due to fly then most people I am sure would appreciate the frustration at losing all or half or whatever proportion of money they do. I am entitled to my opinion and I feel you could have done A LOT more and you need to train your staff to deal with such situations instead of treating everyone like a number or a pound sign.
