We spent the most wonderful afternoon at Winton enjoying both Highland Games and Whiskey tasting for 20 friends. The place, the warm welcome and hospitality made up for an unforgettable moment.
Winton Estate went above and beyond all our expectations. The first impression of Winton Estate upon arriving is that none of the pictures and videos we saw did it justice. We were rendered speechless as we first stepped foot inside the marvelous Castle. While the Castle speaks for itself, the real gemstone of Winton is the staff that they have managed to assemble. The amount of help that we received while planning our wedding there made it as effortless as planning a wedding could possibly be. Huge shoutout to Rae McGonigle for being so helpful every step of the way. Trying to plan a destination wedding can be so stressful, but Rae gave us so many phenomenal suggestions. Our wedding day included so many events from the morning until the end of the night. Our morning started with Highland Games. All the staff that helped with the Games brought so much energy to the event that it was impossible not to have a great time. The wedding ceremony inside the Castle was beautiful! The staff members were all so helpful across every aspect of getting ready and down the aisle. After the wedding, it was right into cocktail hour and again the staff and the caterers were so on top of it. All of the guests were so impressed by how fluid the whole day felt. The hall for dinner was decorated with such class and elegance for the wedding breakfast. The food was served in such a way that it felt almost choreographed. The room was then cleaned and set up for dancing before we knew it. In the meantime, Ken had a whisky tasting set up in the cellar that the guests had a blast taking part in. The staff was so attentive to everyone’s needs, checking in at just the right times to help everything go seamlessly and keep everything on track. The next morning, the staff had a delicious breakfast buffet ready for us as we woke up where Sir Francis Ogilvy took time out of his day to stop by and congratulate us on our nuptials. Even after we left Winton Estate, Rae and the staff helped with all post-event questions. It truly was a day that we, and our guests, will never forget. We so highly recommend Winton Estate and the wonderful staff that excelled across the entire event.
Great wedding venue with a staff that is helpful and more. The bedrooms are large and dutifully maintained. The food is first class in every way.
I was a guest/ photographer for a friends wedding at Winton Castle & couldn't recommend the venue more to couples who are recently engaged. I see a lot of venues as a wedding photographer and this was easily one of the best I've been to. The grounds are amazing and scenic both for pictures and for guests to relax in & the rooms are the inside can cater for those who want a boogie in the evening while also giving those who want peace & quiet and time off their feet plenty of space & comfort to do so. The staff are incredibly efficient, helpful, warm & kind and the food was top notch too. It was an incredible experience & hope to come back soon in the not to distant future. We had our wedding at Winton Castle on the 31st of May 2025. Winton truly has the most incredible people, venue and grounds. From initial contact all the way through to the weeks following our wedding, we felt confident and safe in their hands! From the moment we pulled up at Winton for our initial visit, there was no other option for our wedding venue. The castle and its grounds is so well looked after, it has been flawlessly maintained keeping its history and original features at its heart. Lexi was an absolute dream to work with, and although she has now moved on to a new chapter, you are in safe hands with any of the team at Winton. There is such a family feel about the place, although a castle, our wedding felt intimate and cosy. The staff on the day of and days leading up to the wedding could not have more for us, such attentive, warm and exciting energy. The team went above and beyond at every opportunity nothing was ever too much hassle from our arrival the morning of to us leaving the following day - for ourselves or any of our guests. Being able to stay at the castle with our closest family and friends made the whole thing even more special. The rooms at the castle are immaculate, and the renovations so well done that Finlay’s parents have used one of the en-suites for inspiration for their own home! The best nights sleep after an incredible day, and the breakfast was just wow! This is such a special venue and we cannot recommend it enough. The professionalism but warmth of the team made all planning seamless and our day ran immaculately. Every single detail was thought of and covered. We never worried about a thing and were able to relax and have fun on such a mad day. They are upfront about costs right from the start, there were no secret fees popping up that you hear about so often. Although obviously business, every step of the process felt so caring as everyone truly wants you to have the best day. I wish we could do this day over and over again, we are so lucky we got to get married at such a beautiful venue with such incredible an incredible team! Lauren and Finlay x
My wife and I recently got married at Winton Castle and we could not have been happier with the overall experience. For a couple choosing to not have a formal wedding planner and planning our wedding from the United States in a different timezone, the Winton was able to effectively plan our wedding and alleviated a ton of stress in the overall wedding process. Going into the wedding, we were not sure how our big day would unfold, but the Winton (specifically Lexi!) ensured it exceeded our every expectation. If you want a wedding at a stunning 17th century Scottish castle without any additional stress, definitely choose the Winton. It seemed much more of a family friendly castle than a business.
We visited Winton Castle with a group of staff and clients for our Christmas clay shooting event. From start to finish the communication was excellent, really accommodating and the facilities were excellent. The instructors were terrific, very encouraging, enthusiastic and made all in attendance feel comfortable. I couldn’t recommend clay shooting at Winton Castle more highly, we will definitely be back.
We originally planned our wedding at Winton for January 2022, but due to an increase in covid, we postponed until November 2022. The Winton staff were so understanding and accommodating with covid (unlike other castles we had considered). We also appreciated the fact there are a limited number of weddings each year and how the Winton Team are so personable throughout the planning process and each wedding there is special as theres not one on every week! My husband and I cannot recommend Winton Castle highly enough. Incredible castle venue and most importantly lovely staff who covered everything and more for our special day! Big thank you to Fay for working so closely with us to make our day perfect.
Absolutely stunning place, went to Winton Castle with work for our Christmas party and had the best time ever! All the rooms were beautiful, the atmosphere was amazing with tasteful Christmas decorations scattered throughout and a gorgeous Christmas tree in the Octagon. Very well organised by the lovely staff, food and service was excellent, very friendly bar staff too.
Most enjoyable experience! Spent a couple of days at Winton castle with friends. What a fantastic place, excellent service from the amazingly kind and helpful staff. Great food! On top of that, best of all was all the incredible activities. We went clay pidgeon shooting, archery and highland games, as well as wine and whisky tasting. All activities supervised by talented and experienced instructors. Great value as well!
