Nice pub with a cozy and friendly atmosphere. Good selection of food and drinks, including low/no alcohol - food we had was all very tasty and good quality. Prices are ok. Staff were very amicable and attentive. Background music was great (80s/90s) and not too loud. Plenty of Parking nearby. Interesting option to dine outside in cabins.

Had a meal in the restaurant. Food good, service also good. However, we were seated in the annex at the rear which lacks any character. Main part by the bar area looked great and full of atmosphere, but down at the back was a poor second. Our table was tucked in by the stairs and near the back door. I would only return if I could have a better table.

We visited the pub for a family dinner. It's a nice historic pub with a modern interior and all staff were friendly and attentive. Unfortunately the food was poor at best. Burgers were horribly dry and the pork loin steaks were low quality, especially for the price. I'd happily go back for a beer but won't bother with the food again.

We ate lunch today Saturday 12th July at The Balerno Inn for my mother's 87th birthday. We were a mixed age group of 8 and there was something for each of us. The food was absolutely delicious, we really couldn't fault it in any way. Service was attentive in all the right ways. There is a lovely little playground so our grandson of 16months was entertained there until his food was ready. Everyone was so friendly as well. I would highly recommend this place for all occasions.

Had lunch here one Sunday. It was great. The menu is full of family favourites (and includes a kids menu); while the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend a visit if you're in the area.

We had an outing here with some friends a few weeks ago.. The manager, staff couldn't be more helpful or obliging. I had the chicken and haggis pie along with a few other of our party, was very nice and plenty of it. Would recommend. Fish and chips for other members of the group, very generous portions all round.

Just been for Sunday lunch with my daughter at this pub. We both had the roast beef dinner and sweet. One of the best roast dinners we have had, the braised beef was really tender. We both enjoyed our meal and would definitely go back. Prices were reasonable.

Very nice staff. Booked a top floor room with Super King bed. One of the rare places that has Super King beds in UK, however, sadly, the mattress was awful - unless you like super soft mattress where you feel the coils in your back. Bathroom is small but very modern, clean with great shower. One of the serious downsides of the top floor rooms, besides no lift, is that they are in the attic, meaning half the room is slanted ceiling. Can't tell you how many times I hid my head! On the plus side, the restaurant in the Inn is lovely. Top quality food and excellent service.

I attended a christening meal there and it was excellent. We were outside in the beer garden, there was a range of ages and the weather was variable but there were heaters we could use. The staff were very helpful, good fun and very efficient. The food was excellent and I would thoroughly recommend the Balerno Inn.
