This is not a bad travel lodge by far, its in a good location just off princess Street and close to most attractions, it was also clean and quiet which is always good. My only complaint would be was when we checked in, the only words from the lady on checking desk were, hello, what's your name and there you are, when given our key card, however, later and the following the staff were friendly and polite. Not sure if I would go to this trail lodge again.....

We stayed here for a girls trip to Edinburgh. The location was good and the majority of the staff were lovely and helpful but unfortunately, this is where the positivity ends. Having stayed in many Travelodge’s we expected nothing spectacular but a clean, functional place to sleep. Our first complaint was that our room was the lower ground floor. Be warned that there is no service on the lower ground floor. My mobile data wasn’t functional and WiFi is NOT free (except 30 minutes per day). I complained to the desk where a lady insisted that even staff don’t get free WiFi and there were no rooms for us to be moved to (as all family rooms are downstairs). She assured me that her mobile data works downstairs but me and my friends who are on different providers couldn’t get any service. We then used the paid for WiFi which was also really poor. This may seem insignificant but as 3 young women, being able to contact others is important. There was a lovely helpful man at the desk who understood our frustration. Then, having asked for a top up, we received clean towels, however, the beds were not made. Although a budget hotel, I feel like housekeeping should at least make the beds and replenish your towels. There was no bath mat provided either. Another issue was that our keys were constantly failing. Each time we returned to our room, the keys were voided and not functional. We were advised to keep the keys away from our phones, but they weren’t kept near any phones! This, although a minor gripe, was just unhelpful and inconvenient to have to go back up to reception every time we needed to access the room to have the keys reset. Finally, this hotel does NOT hold luggage. Therefore, unlike every other Travelodge I have stayed in, if your flight is later on in the day, you will have to take your luggage with you in the busy city, or pay to keep your luggage elsewhere (£10 for 3 hours we saw). This, in my opinion is really basic. Travelodge should consider keeping one room free for luggage as this would absolutely disincentivise me from returning to this hotel. Thank you to the lady and man on the desk who were helpful but I feel my comments needed to be shared.

The staff, especially Carol at the front desk, were most welcoming, friendly and kind.Great location, but the hotel can best be described as moderately decent. A minimal approach to everything, very typical of a budget hotel. At least it was clean upon arrival. No breakfast options, except a boxed takeout, which I steered clear of. Wooden floorboards, which rendered being able to hear the adjacent guests whenever they were up, arriving or walking around the rooms. Even the vending machine was out of order for the duration of my 3 night stay.

Great central location and wonderful customer service from Claire on reception when we arrived and during our stay. Room was large and bathroom was a decent size too. Would have been helpful if all of the lights in the room worked. Also the bath had an icky shower curtain instead of screen/glass. No cupboards or drawers in the room which was a shame as there definitely was enough space to accommodate some sort of storage for your things. Room felt too warm which meant sleep wasn’t so great, but the beds were comfortable. Had to ask if wanted fresh towels each day, which is okay, but they didn’t top up the toilet paper unless you made an extra request which seemed strange. No breakfast facilities but that was fine with us as great cafes nearby (we didn’t try the breakfast box which you could order, as did not seem worth it). We would stay here again as overall it felt like decent value.

The room was very spacious and plenty big enough for the three of us. It was clean and the beds were super comfy. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and we were made to feel most welcome. The location of this hotel is so central, both for the railway station, the Royal Mile and a multitude of bus stops and nearby tram stop for travelling further afield. There is no cooked breakfast served here but there are so many cafes nearby it's not really necessary.

Warm and cozy rooms. The rooms had a few issues like the lack of a mini fridge and squeaky floors with dirty carpet. The shower didn't have a hand-held shower head so it made it harder to wash ourselves. They have a tea kettle and tea in the room which is a good addition. The staff is very welcome and nice and the hotel is very well located. I would stay here again if I ever came back.

I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. It's not an elegant hotel, it is very simple, but warm room, everything you need just around the corner. Wonderful position. I recommend SNAX for breakfast. Just 3 minutes walk. Staff was very nice too. I found the room to be very clean even though the room is not cleaned daily.

Great location, friendly staff, a bed in a room. It had all the essentials - except for windows with any real light coming through. Got stuck in the lowest basement in a room with only one chair, one towel, no bath mat, and no hand wash. Our keys kept expiring almost every day. At least it was warm.

They didn't have the room we booked for our family. At 11:30 pm they suggested we split into two rooms and told us no hotel around would allow our three small kids in one room. That's just nonsense of course and we left at midnight and went to the Holiday Inn where we all stayed together. The location was great and the staff was perfectly nice. Just terrible customer service. I suggest paying the extra few dollars for the ability to cancel if you need to.

Clean and good sized room. Friendly staff. No hand wash in the dispenser and could do with a toilet brush. Would be good if wifi was included with the room. Good location but can be noisy during the night as hotel is in the centre. Overall, perfect for a short stay.
