   We had an amazing stay here for my partner's 30th birthday. The staff were incredible throughout the whole stay, always helpful and friendly. They arranged some additional amenities at the last minute (which was my own fault!). The food on offer was excellent, rooms tidy and the room preparation throughout the day made it even more special. A perfect location for a special occasion. Thank you to all of the staff at The Balmoral for making my partner's 30th so amazing.

   The Balmoral was an incredible hotel to stay at. The service was like no other. I unfortunately fell ill my second day into our trip and the hotel offers a service where a physician comes to the hotel to be checked out. This alone made me feel like I was being taken care of and I was appreciated as a guest. The staff was always so kind and cheerful. I am hoping to make my way back to Scotland so I can see more of this beautiful place!

   Exceptional. Visited the bar for a few drinks. Was immediately made to feel welcome. Warm and welcoming, busy and vibrant. Felt like we were mixing it with the rich and famous for the afternoon. Drinks were around £10 per pint and £17 medium glass of wine. Yes, expensive, however was also about the experience, location and venue. Spent the afternoon talking to a lovely gentleman sat at the bar. Would love to spend another cosy afternoon there.

   We had an excellent stay at The Balmoral. Top quality service for us start to finish. The connecting suite rooms were perfect for us and the children. The rooms were quiet and clean. I was truly shocked how quiet the rooms were. The restaurant is delicious and so is the room service. The location of this hotel is also superb, close to everything. Access to the train is amazing, and such a fun experience.

   Old fashioned five star service. Everything about this hotel was excellent - the convenient location, the sumptuous suites with comfy beds and plenty of space for working, the bar and restaurant. Walking into the reception with the welcoming fire and beautiful Christmas felt like stepping into luxury. For just a few days someone else was looking after us! We can't wait to go back.

   I had recently moved to the UK from the United States after a lengthy visa process to finally close the gap on my long-distance relationship with my wife after 9 and 1/2 years. I took some time off to get settled into the UK and she had made the great idea to visit Edinburgh; a city that was new to both of us and we heard was beautiful. On a whim, we chose to stay at the Balmoral due to my benefits as an American Express Platinum cardholder. We had relatively high expectations going in blind as The Balmoral is a 5-star hotel and a part of American Express' Fine Hotel and Resorts program as well as being a hotel that have seen prestigious guests including the late Queen Mother. With this, The Balmoral completely exceeded our expectations. From the moment we approached the door, there was a lovely gentleman that greeted us and brought our bags in while we were awe-struck with the beautiful reception and gorgeous Christmas tree. Every staff member that we encountered after was extremely friendly and accommodating to our requests. The room we had, an Executive room facing Old Town, felt like a home away from home rather than a foreign hotel room. We chose to eat dinner and breakfast at the Bar Prince downstairs and everything we had was completely delicious. All the service we received was just absolutely amazing. The reception staff also gave us several places to visit as it was our first time in Edinburgh and we appreciated all of their genuine advice. When we arrived, we were also interested in attending their famous Afternoon Tea in Palm Court but unfortunately were completely booked out. However, they went ahead and put us on the waiting list and called to inform us that they had made a spot for us. Their Afternoon Tea was divine and we only regret that we didn't leave enough room in our stomachs to fully enjoy the food and started to run out of time because we needed to check out (even with late checkout being an option). The only thing that wasn't perfect for me on this trip was I wasn't able to make an appointment at their spa for an Ishga Hot Rock massage as they were fully booked out, but that was more my fault for not making an appointment earlier. If you are coming to Edinburgh and are considering a luxurious hotel stay, please consider The Balmoral and its excellent experience. Its location is superb right next to the train station, their food is amazing, and their staff are the most accommodating and friendly hotel staff I've met. My wife and I wholeheartedly recommend The Balmoral!

   Quite literally the best hotel we've stayed in around the world. The hotel is beautiful and right in the heart of Edinburgh, but not squeezed in on all sides like many other hotels in town. The rooms are gorgeous and spacious. Our second night they even upgraded our room. The breakfast was delicious. Everything about The Balmoral is 5 star!! However what makes The Balmoral even better than a 5 star hotel is the people. Mark greets you at the door with a friendly smile and a kind word. Brian works at the concierge desk and is so kind and funny. Desiree behind the desk is so helpful and friendly and makes you feel like the most important guest at The Balmoral. Phil, the night manager, is the best. Professional but friendly. He helped us with our valet parking and I'm sure he's the reason we were upgraded but he'd never say. All in all The Balmoral is well worth the visit. The hotel is great but the staff make it exceptional. We'll be back!!!
