   Great place to stop and recharge after a long trail! The restaurant offers all your favourite pub classics as well as a large choice of draft ales. Everything was delicious and the portions were quite generous. The staff is friendly and the ambience is pretty cozy.

   Stopped in for lunch on the off chance. Highly recommended. The service was great, the food was amazing. If only I could have squeezed in a dessert... Perfect for a post walk rest. If you're within visiting distance, you won't regret it.

   Been here for dinner or lunch 4 or 5 times now. Always a solid performance from the kitchen. The menu is fairly traditional and limited but it works for them so cant fault that. Had the fish today and it was superb - fresh and with a super batter and plenty of it. Previously had the steak Pie which was also superb. Partner had the Panko coated chicken breast and it was very tasty. Keep up the good work.

   Such a lovely village pub.. all the staff and locals are so friendly and chatty, nothing was too much trouble.. even when my husband kicked a dog bowl of water over.. it was cleaned up and joked about. It is dog friendly with biscuits available for our 4 legged friends !! We had a meal on a Sunday.. slightly disappointed there wasn't a Sunday roast available, but the steak pie, mash, and veg were incredible. Definitely we will visit again soon.

   Came for an impromptu lunch with my mum. Had a good choice for Vegetarians - hopefully they change it often. The staff are wonderful, friendlyand accommodating. Food was FANTASTIC. All freshly made. I dont like Tartar sauce but I ate the whole lot I was given as it was made in house. Not too tarte, it was just right. Food wasnt greasy either and the plate sizes were perfect. Veyr impressed and will definitely be back. Great atmosphere.

   Had a meal where the chicken was clearly off waiter took it back and said chef agreed it was not good …. ( why serve it then) !! Waiter said it was fresh in that morning… on a Sunday!! and that chef had phoned them and they were on there way to collect it and deliver a fresh batch…. on a Sunday!! Waiter comped the chicken meal and one drink for me … partner paid her full meal … on paying the bill we ordered a coffee which watched being made but. never delivered… we grabbed our coats and gracefully left …

   Simple, but delicious menu. We have visited a number of times and they have never failed to impress. There's also a daily specials board, featuring a daily soup and a number of special mains. Very friendly and attentive service. 110% recommend!

   Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Excellent seating area inside and in the walled garden. Other customers were equally engagingly interested in a quick hello. Good vibe. My wife's Crispy Bacon and Crayfish salad was 5*, but my large Fish and Chips looked good but was a 3* at best. Chips were cooked till just a shrivelled rock hard skin, fish batter was equally rock hard, with a thinner fillet than I anticipated. Overall very clean, well kept and will visit again, for another try at the fish and chips.
