I have been a few times with my child however the most recent in December (week leading to christmas) i was disappointed in the food. My child had chicken goujons of which you get 2 (there doesn't appear to be an age limit on kids meals but 2 goujons for any child younger than 3 is silly) plus what you get isn't listed on the menu. It also comes with mashed potatoes which was confusing. The chips I got with my meal appeared to be ones you would find at the bottom of the pan. They were crispy and hard and the burger tasted a little strange but could have been a number of things. I'm very disappointed and as reading other reviews regarding christmas dinner I was very close to booking my own xmas dinner here but I am glad I didn't.

The portions served were extremely small and not representative of what was expected for a Christmas meal. Additionally, the food quality was unacceptable: approximately half of the meal was burnt, while the other half was cold, making it very unpleasant to eat. To make matters worse, the staff were unfriendly and came across as rude when issues were raised. Given that Christmas dining is meant to be a special experience, the overall service and attitude were particularly disappointing. Considering the cost and expectations associated with a Christmas dinner, this experience fell well below an acceptable standard.

Yesterday my family of 12 adults and 1 child went to the juniper Lea for Christmas dinner. Was suppose to be Β£80pp and 40 for a child. We all had a 3 course meal. All of us except 3 had the soup which was look warm. Then all of us had a traditional turkey dinner which resulted in a slice of turkey 3 roast potatoes and a very over cooked pig in blanket. Every single person returned the turkey dinner. The manager and staff were extremely rude regarding this. Then the puddings came out everyone got sticky toffee pudding apart 2 adults got ice cream. The sticky toffee pudding was brick hard you couldβve thrown it at the wall and it wouldβve bounced back at us. The staff were so disrespectful and extremely rude. Would not recommend to anyone.

Very tasty food, the chef has a great skills to season the dishes what makes them flavourful and standing out from many other establishments I have been at. Cosy and clean place with the lovely setting including fireplace . The prices are extremely reasonable while potions are much filling . The staff is lovely however it would be nicer to have a little more often attention upon our last visit especially when our table was the only one in and just next to the bar. Itβs just our feedback to let them know it would make us feel a bit more appreciated for choosing to dining there. I still believe they deserve a 5star review. I will definitely be back .

Lovely cosy place to stay. Room was spacious and comfortable. Surprisingly quiet given the busy road beside it. Dinner was lovely and you could tell it was well made rather than something that was chucked in a microwave like some big chains do. Bit pricey, but you are paying for the quality of a well made meal. The staff were lovely and attentive. Breakfast is hidden in the fridge in the bedrooms. Its a nice feeling not to feel rushed at breakfast and you can enjoy cheese, ham, pastries, cereals, porridge and jams. Whatever takes your fancy. There is a fancy name for it that i can never remember let alone spell. Was delicious, however the cheese may have been eaten as a late night snack.( Don't judge!). Check out is easy... You just leave. Nice wee place, would go again.

Fantastic , place the owners and the standard of care is beyond excellent , food is amazing , well priced and completely the hidden Gem In mid Lothian. Food in my view is well presented, staff are a absolute credit , we most certainly will stay there again and again. Cant say enough about them all 10 out of 10 and five star

I stayed in the Juniperlea Inn for 1 night this week. I found the staff and owner very helpful and lovely to deal with. Food was to a very good standard, room was lovely and well presented. Although the main road is nearby the room itself was quiet and you couldn't hear any traffic. I would definitely book again!
