I never stayed in the hotel but had lunch with a friend and my dog since it’s dog friendly. The location and food were all fine along with a nice setting (it wasn’t too busy when we went), however, after asking for tap water for myself, my friend and dog we were given x2 £6 glass bottles of water which the waiter (he may have been a supervisor as acted slightly more superior) opened and poured out for us before we could correct him. I decided not to argue at this point although did think it was a bit strange. I asked again if the dog could have a bowl of water to which he then brought over another bottle and started pouring it into a dog bowl! I thought this was a bit of a cheek so informed him that I had asked for tap water and that the first two bottles will be fine since we had started drinking them but not for the dog… he shrugged his shoulders and walked away and another young female waitress came over with tap water for the dog. The waitress also got our order incorrect as I had asked for x2 starters of scallops for my friend and I and she only brought one? I asked her where the other was and she defensively snapped back that I had said one, which my friend and I can confirm was just not the case. Anyway, we just got on with it but felt very let down by the state of the service so likely would not come back or recommend.

What an amazing place. Gullane is beautiful, very calm and welcoming. Unfortunately and I know I'm being picky, but coming from Glasgow, we don't want to wait 20 mins for a drink or 50 mins for food especially when people who came in after us got served first. Just a no no I'm afraid. Food was outstanding as always but front of house let you down when restaurant was very quiet and a lot of chatting at the bar from staff. Still a lovely setting.

Went for a lunch at the broc bar after a lovely circular walk around Gullane. We read some rave reviews about the food and were excited to eat some fresh, local food. What a disappointing experience. The food was far from substandard. My pie, which cost £21 had about 5 pieces of meat in it and no sides. My friend ordered sausage and mash and was given smash with cheap microwave sausages. If this was a Wetherspoons with atmosphere I wouldn’t have complained. The prices are for premium food and there was no atmosphere. The staff were polite but I definitely wouldn’t recommend. The food on offer is not hard to do well so there really are no excuses.

Finally got to use a voucher received last Christmas and it was worth the wait. The whole experience was excellent. We had lunch in the bar. All of the staff were very attemtive and seemed genuinely happy to help. Both mains were well received, and the sticky toffee pudding was divine. We wont leave it so long to make another visit!

We visited the Bonnie Badger's Broc Bar for a pub lunch, and had a wonderful time. The service, friendliness and overall attentiveness of the staff was excellent. The food itself was also brilliant - my partner had fish and chips, and I had a pork dish with a side of mac & cheese that was sensational. The vibe of the venue was great - lots of friendly patrons, and we also were in good company bringing our dog with us! Overall a great day out and would love to visit again. Highly recommend!

We stayed here for Valentine’s Day in The Paddock room in Honeysuckle cottage with access to our own mini garden. The entire experience from start to finish was utterly enjoyable and we really relaxed as all of our needs were met/preempted. The Bonnie Badger delivers on quality of service and food (exceptional, locally sourced and seasonal) without feeling uncomfortably formal- a tough balance to achieve. Breakfast is the best I’ve ever had. We even had hot chocolate and home baked cookies waiting for us at our room post dinner. This is hands down the best place I’ve ever stayed in Scotland and by a long way. The team seem to be very involved and invested in the runnings of the Bonnie Badger and it shows in the extremely high standard of service and food. We had the same waiting staff both in the evening and again the next morning which was so lovely. Highly highly recommend especially if you’re a foodie.

Fantastic gem of a place to eat and stay. The staff were absolutely amazing. The little extras made the stay one of the best we've had. Food was truly outstanding. Little tray of home made cookies, flasks of hot chocolate and a vial of sleep spray when we got back to our room was just a perfect touch. On leaving we got a bag with two bottles of water and two home made flapjacks 'for the journey home'. I would beg anyone to go if they get the chance.

We had a great overnight stay and in one of their excellent dog friendly rooms. Service was excellent throughout they stay. We really enjoyed dinner here too, very nice food & drinks. They catered well for dietary requirements too making any alterations as needed. Breakfast was great in the morning too.

On Saturday the 24th we were a party of four celebrating my husbands birthday. From the moment we entered we received a very warm welcome. The meal was absolutely delicious. Wonderful flavours and texture. The wines were special, particularly the red. Throughout the evening the staff were attentive, helpful and very pleasant. Altogether it was a perfect way to celebrate a husband, and dad's, birthday. Well done Bonny Badger.

Came here for dinner after golf down the road. We were a group of 8 and the waitress Millie was beyond exceptional! Had the Ravioli of ham hock appetizer, and Grouse for main course. Truly farm-to-table restaurant serving extraordinary dishes. Eating here was an experience for me I’ll never forget!
