   Such a warm welcome from the new owners at the Open Arms Hotel. They have breathed new life into this East Lothian institution. Tremendous private meal in the Heather Room. Keep up the great work. We will be back.

   This is a review of the restaurant, we visited here for a birthday dinner. Food was overpriced for the standard of service and quality of food. Battered fish was small for £22 and mushy peas were not available. Chips were perfect. Menu said it came with tartare sauce but I had to ask for it afterwards and so did my family. Vegetarian Haggis Wellington was delicious and a great idea from the kitchen. Whiskey sauce was brilliant. Again the portion was rather small. Ordered a pint of Belhaven Best and the pint was poured badly without nitrous, suggesting it didn't come from a keg. Disappointing when paying 6.50 for a pint that costs 3.80 anywhere else. Young waiters were inexperienced and made frequent mistakes, which is fine and to be expected from new staff, but the service fee and overall prices did not reflect the quality of service. Only one vegetarian option, and zero vegan options. Only come here if you intend to eat meat or fish. Beautifully decorated building, although there was a strange bright security light inside coming from a CCTV camera, pointing right at our table. I wouldn't personally come back here. I take it this restaurant is geared towards elderly customers and foreign golfers.

   Small and quiet hotel, with very friendly staff and good food. Room was clean, cozy and beautiful. Loved to read the newspaper at the sitting room while sipping a cup of tea. There is free hotel car park

   Visited here for dinner. Food was good and the menu had a good selection. Did have an incredibly long wait at reception to get seated when we arrived, seems like their buzzer doesn't work. Staff were friendly and we enjoyed our meal so did make up for the wait.

   If old style peace and quiet in a warm, sociable atmosphere is your thing, this is the place for you. Beautiful beach and coastal off road walks abound. Food is very good and room was very comfortable. Excellent service despite staff covid absences. All in all, the most relaxing place. We will be back.

   Great for lunch or dinner. Super fine food and private rooms for groups on request. Food served in perfect timing, no long waits, making it ideal for families with impatient kids - or adults! Has a nice outdoor courtyard where you can retire for coffee after your meal on a nice day, or several lounges to choose form indoors.
