James was such a nice, welcoming host. Parkhead house was very conveniently located to both the airport and to Midhope Castle. Breakfast was the best breakfast we had had during our week tour around scotland (this was the last place we stayed before leaving). From the moment we walked in we felt like we were staying at a friend's house. James even surprised us at midhope castle the next morning knowing we would be there and gave us a private tour! The room was well kept and clean and bigger than we expected. The room.was fully stocked with everything including fresh milk and fruit in the refrigerator. At dusk there were deer in the field that we could see from the living room window. It was such a great experience! Highly recommend if you are wanting to stay in the area.

As a B&B is marvellous. A room includes a lounge, bedroom, ensuite and kitchenette. There was a shared laundry with the guests upstairs.

James and Angela were the icing on the cake to a fantastic BnB. Stayed 3 nights on a 2 week trip around Scotland and was such a slice of paradise. The grounds are spectacular and just a treat to be in the center of that history and tradition. Close enough to Edinburgh to enjoy the city and the next day you can lose yourself in a country walk right at the estate. Best of both worlds. Most spacious we stayed at and the hospitality was genuine and above and beyond! Outlander fans.... just book already!

Such a great stay. Angela and James were wonderful hosts. The breakfasts were outstanding, and the cupboard and refrigerator were stocked for a quick snack. James was very helpful in pointing us to various sights. For the Outlander fans this is the place to be. When we booked we had never watched Outlander... We will watch when we get home.

Our stay at Parkhead House was incredibly special. We recently spent two weeks in scotland, which included seven hotels. Parkhead House was one of our favorites. It was so charming, especially with the open fields in the back which included sheep and deer. James and Angela made us feel like cherished guests. The breakfast was wonderful and our own table was set beautifully. I love that James came to the door to great us. He has a wonderful connection to Outlander and I cant think of a better place to stay if you want to see Lollybroch! It was a perfect, homelike retreat. Thank you James and Angela for be such wonderful hosts.

I chose to stay at Parkhead house for my wedding weekend as my wedding was at Hopetoun house and I knew it was a great private location. As my husband and I are both outlander fans, the cottage was also a perfect romantic honeymoon suite that made us feel like our own Jamie and Claire. The cottage is on the Hopetoun estate and about a 20 minute drive to the center of Edinburgh, which means you can be close to all the sites, escape the crowds , and have a tranquil stay. The cottage is stunning, charming, and rustic, everything a cottage should be. The views are insane and getting to see deer in the back yard when waking was surreal. As a city girl I'm not used to nature right outside my door. My dog loved his stay and the garden which made him more excited to roam. He also loved James , Angela and their adorable doggie. Outlander was one of my reasons for getting married in Scotland and at Hopetoun (which the show is filmed at, with Parkhead being very close to Midhope castle (Lallybroch). James knows everything there is to know about Outlander, the estate grounds, & history, which is awesome. He also holds tours which I highly recommend if you have the chance to go on one during your stay. Both James & Angela are the sweetest and nicest people you will ever meet. The fact that they went above and beyond for my stay was so wonderful. They even helped me with my dog who has some separation anxiety. Angela became like another mom to him, and he was spoiled with cuddles. I do not easily trust people with my little guy but I knew right away that they were very special people who I could trust. Angela was also with me on my wedding day, helping out with our dog and keeping us ladies calm. She took some beautiful photos of me which was so sweet , and got some stunning shots of my boy at Midhope in his dog tuxedo after she had already taken him to see us for some wedding pics. Parkhead will always have a special place in my heart Β thanks to Β James and Angela who are simply the best and feel like family. I hope to come back for a visit as soon as I can. I highly recommend staying here whether youβre an outlander fanatic or just want to be somewhere relaxing, with amazing people.

We booked just for one night before going to the airport after spending 10 days in Scotland and it was so beautiful there. We had a warm welcome, everything was so organized, cosy, with much love for little details. The fridge was stocked with a perfect breakfast, fresh juices, milk, lots of choices for tea and coffee. It was quiet and we could see the sheep's and deer from the window. Will definitely be back one day. Highly recommended. Thank you
