We came on the road to register early, but the hostess was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Although it was only 11 hours local time, we decided to sit in the bar and order a nice malt. She must have liked us because it was her treatment. The rooms were clean and the sheets and towels were always fresh.

I have a poor experience at this hotel. The room was extremely cold even though the radiator was on max. The radiator was very old so it hardly produced any warmth and I ended up sleeping in my pullover(still freezing ) . The door on my hotel room was paper think and every night when my drunk neighbours came home i woke up and could not continue my sleep as I could clearly hear what they talked about even though there were 2 doors and a halway between us. The hotel it self has a very strong smell which is not pleasant. At night I woke up as the strong smell of Edinburgh (production smell of alcohol) leaked through the paper thin, poorly isolated windows. The room itself was clean and the receptionists were nice. Location of the hotel is great - near the city centre. Considering all the above I would never ever stay at this hotel ever avain and i would not recommend this place to my family and friends. I could not get a proper sleep due to the noises. If you want to relax stay out of this place!

I stayed there for 2 nights and have to say that location was super not the Hotel as you could not describe it as one. A joke really. Customer service by all was deplorable and I think all staff need to do a lot of training to bring it up to any reasonable standard.Bar Reception area-check in and out and breakfast area all in the front room.. this resembled more of a hostel than a hotel and was run in this fashion. Bathroom had two lights in it one of which was only working and there was no fan to take out the condensation when shower was on. Shower bar was hanging off wall and shower itself took time to actually get working. Bath was was badly marked and stained and no bath math existed from a health and safety point of view this is essential. No bath screen or shower curtain was in existence. This meant water ended up on floor. Furniture looked like it all had come from a second hand shop and badly marked.. phone as far as I know did no work.. continental breakfast was nothing to brag about either. First morning I went down breakfast seemed to be over despite not being told what time it was over at on check in.. no selection of food. All seemed to be pre packed croissants especially, not fresh.. no saucers for cups and had to ask for almost everything..Kitchen sink etc in same room. This should be closed down for health and safety reasons and health service or governing body needs to investigate this from a health and working with food perspective.. carpet dirty and not very warm or welcoming.. whole experience very unsatisfactory and would not recommend it to anyone...

This isn't a hotel, it's more of a hostel. The furniture looks like it was all bought at a second hand auction and there is a lot of wear and tear on all the furniture and carpets. Breakfast was poor and all the facilities weren't the best. The bath had a lot of dirty marks all over it and there was no shower curtain so the water went all over the floor. The showers didn't even work properly. Bulbs were missing in the bathroom, over the sink so toiletry duties were impaired. Customer service was poor as well. Pluses - the location. It's in a fantastic location and just a short walk into the city centre. The bed linen was clean and fresh. Would I stay here again? - definitely not. This should a one star hotel. I can't understand why it gets three because it doesn't even feel like a hotel. this is probably the worst hotel I've ever stayed in.

The place needs a good clean and redecoration as it's quite dated. Safety needs improving as we were asked to leave our room key with reception before leaving for dinner. Upon being asked for it back when we returned, we were not asked anything to verify we were actually staying there, so anyone could have asked for it back.

The place has lovley staff. However the room was: Cold (maybe single glazing and could feel cold wind through a window gap). I had to use towels from spare bed to stop cold air. I also had to use the second heater all the time just to keep warm. Not the most room to have a shower either. The good thing is it's close to the city centre.
