   Lovely friendly hostel in an amazing location. The volunteer working at the hostel when we stayed was very knowledgeable and helpful, rooms are well equipped and the location is spectacular.

   Excellent place to stay at upon finishing the Pennine Way! Super cheap and great value, just 1 minute walk from the pub for some local grub and really good facilities within! So grateful to Simon and the volunteers who keep it running!!

   A welcoming & sweet place to stay. We were well looked after by volunteers who made the stay. Fantastic location close to the village green & to the borders hotel . Many thanks to Victor & Simon and all the team for keeping a door open for travellers .Hope to return to explore the Cheviot hills that surround the village.

   Very welcoming and friendly hosts. Nice to have a kitchen where you could all sit and chat. Good facilities. Lovely end to the Pennine Way. Would highly recommend to others, particularly walkers.

   As with many of the youth hostels I've stayed in it's often the staff who make the difference. During my stay I couldn't have hoped for better. Friendly, helpful and generous, Nigel and Sue are an asset to the YHA. The room I stayed in was clean and comfortable, and the bed was fine. The kitchen was spacious and well-equipped. The bathroom was clean and the shower was nice and hot. A bargain for £25 (towels extra). Coffee and tea was free (with a suggested donation). They don't currently have a card machine so either book online or bring cash. A welcome place to rest after a wonderful 2 weeks on the Pennine Way

   Not the most comfortable YHA I've ever stayed in. Warden was really friendly but the beds were rock hard and the "safety" lock on the window meant you could'nt get it open more than about 6 inches. Other than that, standar YHA| fare, really. Kinda about what was expected.

   Basic hostel. Not clear whether bedding had all been washed. Warden was drunk and not particularly friendly. Turned our lift away when she came to pick us up. Would not stay there again

   Ideal, very friendly, hostel right on St. Cuthbert's Way. Also would be a nice place to stop and relax at the end of the Pennine Way, or whilst doing other routes around the Borders.
