   Very poor service. Doesn’t open when it should . Erratic deliveries and often don’t even leave card when they try delivering when you’re away !

   Really let down by Mackies today. My husband has type 1 diabetes. Yesterday evening, when he was having a hypo, we discovered he had no Glucagon pen: The last line of defence against hypoglycaemic coma. Because the GP practice is closed until Monday, he went personally today to the pharmacy that for many years has provided him with his repeat prescriptions: Mackies in Fenwick Road, Giffnock. He explained that the pen provides crucial emergency protection that is essential to someone with his type of diabetes. The pharmacist confirmed that the pens were in stock, but after conferring with another person, refused to supply one without a prescription. Yesterday, my husband's hypo was caused by the mis-timing of his insulin. He had, in effect, taken 10 units of Fiasp insulin and for about 45 minutes, only 20g of carbohydrates. He was at real risk of severe hypoglycaemia, with no Glucagon pen to counter it. This was extremely alarming, and we hoped we could call on Mackies to provide the emergency item he needs. Their refusal suggests that they do not understand the life-saving role of the Glucagon pen, or they do but do not care that my husband is without one. When we needed Mackies, they failed us.

   ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Mackies Pharmacy in Giffnock is simply outstanding. The staff are incredibly friendly and consistently go above and beyond to assist with any queries or concerns. Their level of helpfulness is unparalleled, truly setting them apart from other nearby pharmacies. The difference in service is like night and day. I cannot praise the team here highly enough for their professionalism and genuine care for their customers. First-class service all around!

   Deeply disappointed when visiting the Giffnock branch as I had recently moved to the area. I arrived to collect my prescription for however I had been given orodispersable tablets which make me violently ill. I asked if this could be changed to receive an adamant "No we can't do that" an issue which could have been solved with a simple phone call to my doctor which other pharmacies have accommodated in the past. I was instead left with no medication for my condition, having a panic attack and dealing with the horrendous withdrawal symptoms for 3 days while waiting for a replacement prescription. Rather than helping to find a solution this pharmacy chose to leave me to suffer, considering the public are encouraged to depend on our local pharmacy for minor ailments it is disheartening when a callous disregard for customer care and a lack of compassion is the response. Furthermore I have requested the formal complaints procedure from Mackies Pharmacy only to receive no response.

   They clearly don't know what they're doing. Was told doctors didn't send them the prescription. Phoned the doctors who gave date and time it was picked up. Went back to Mackies and my prescription magically turned up. No apology given whatsoever How rude

   My medication was delivered but without the repeat precription, and this was the 3rd time. When I called the person on the phone was downright rude and firstly told me to just come down and they'd print off another one. Then they spoke with a someone else and came back on to say it wasn't their fault it was my Doctor's surgery for not including the prescription (?). When I phoned the Surgery and they asked what Pharmacy it was, when i told them "Mackie's of Giffnock" there was a snort and "they always try to blame us but we wouldn't keep the prescription".

   Jenny, 1 of the pharmacist, was able to provide me with great advice today. The pharmacy was busy, though she was very reassuring and patient with me....thank you!! The robot dispenser looked pretty nifty too!
