Nice wee cinema bar with good draught tap beers (and I'm a real ale man). Prices are OK with a membership. Well laid out seating accommodates a variety of group sizes. It can busy up when a film is showingβ€”no surprise.

Cute and cozy theatre. Really friendly and helpful staff!

Imagine the eerieness of Courage the Cowardly Dog, imagine the decor from Kubric's Shining, imagine the comfort of spending a lazy afternoon at a post-americana diner reading lurid literature. All of those come together to create the vibe that's the Cameo Bar. And it is, hands down, the best thing. It is both ironically and effortlessly cinematic. It lets you carry your drink to the movie theatre. It can also make a mean toastie. Grab a drink here before the movie, carry a drink to the movie, and come back afterwards to discuss the movie over a pint. Scorsese loves you.

The cafe bar is nice and I enjoy the ambience of the space. I thought I'd spend some time in the cafe to do some work during what was a quiet evening but was told there is a 'no laptops after 5pm' rule. It's entirely up to the management to set their own rules, of course, but it seemed unnecessarily petty to insist on this when half the tables were empty, rather than, say, ask me to buy another drink. I suppose there must be a rationale but I obviously won't be choosing Cameo when next looking for a place to get some work done, so all it seemed to achieve here was losing a customer who otherwise likes the cafe.

Cool wee bar at a cool cinema. Really good for a quiet drink and a boardgame. Please support the cameo, Edinburgh can't take another hit after losing film house .

Cameo Bar I was here with a few others about 1 year back. I am not sure if it is the same management with a new name of but the Cameo now calls itself "Barologist"! The food was a slight disappointment. My Vegan Shepard’s Pie lacked flavors and was dry with stale-tasting veggies alongside. Even the fries weren’t upto the mark. They obliged to replace this dish with Mac and Cheese (which was good) but when it arrived, the rest were done with their meal. Additionally, other mains which my friends ordered - like the beef burger (over cooked and totally not edible) and the jambalaya (bare average) were also not worth writing about. The initial Camembert with sourdough however was wonderful, The staff was very polite, friendly and did their best to keep us happy.

Nice little cafe bar. Dog friendly, comfortable, a small range of decent food, AND it's attached to one of the nicest cinemas around. Shame about the underpaying, anti-union corporate owners. It still does a pretty good impression of an independent cinema, but it leaves a bad taste in your mouth if you think too much about it.

A fantastic relaxed bar which is part of the Cameo Cinema. The best thing about the place is its atmosphere, its perfect for sitting reading a paper or magazine while grabbing a coffee or for meeting up with friends for a chat before or after a film. There's also a great buzz about the place later on a Friday or Saturday night. The drinks and snacks available are ok and there is alcohol available too if required. Very reasonably priced.
