The tea room at Dyrham Park is a lovely place to stop and relax. The tea and coffee are excellent, and the staff are always friendly and helpful – it really adds to the whole visit.

Disappointed by the Lack of Freshness and Greens I was really let down by the National Trust cafΓ© at the Durham property. What struck me most was how every dish seemed deliberately stripped of any kind of greenery or fresh garnish. Why is it considered normal here to serve food with absolutely no salad, herbs, or even a simple side of vegetables? In a time when most places are trying to offer healthier, more balanced meals, this felt like a step backwards. A bit of greenery isn’t just about presentationβ€”it’s about offering something nutritious and wholesome. Instead, everything felt bland, overly processed, and missing the freshness that should be a basic part of any decent meal. For a place that values tradition and the natural environment, you’d think that would be reflected in the food. Sadly, it isn’t.

A great cafe operated in the estate. On a busy day the line does get long, with people lining up through the door, but delivery of food was prompt and delicious. Great lunch for a day out in Dyrham Park

Another good National Trust cafe with a good range of hot and cold drinks, snacks, cakes, meals and ice creams. Not much choice for gluten free and we had to queue for quite a while as they were short of staff but they were still friendly and the cream tea is always worth it.

My cheese scone was fresh and still pleasingly warm. The tea garden gets crowded in good weather on popular days, but there was plenty of room indoors. Very little signal and no WiFi but that's true of many other National Trust cafes.

We enjoyed a tasty light lunch from the sensibly limited menu. There was adequate indoor seating, with lots more tables available outside. The Tea Room had a pleasant atmosphere.
