Seemed like a very traditional local when walking in. There were a group of older generation people who seemed to know each other from school. Had one lady serving. I worked it out that what I wanted for lunch would come to just over £18 so had a £20 note ready, but she said it was over £20 so I had to break into another note. Then after working it out I told her that I'd been overcharged and she agreed and gave me money back. Expect she emptied the till of change for that. I bet many people don't check. Then I moved table to be closer to a window, and heard the bar'maid' talking with the locals how I said I wanted to sit on first table. Fish and chips were nice and another woman who brought it out came back to ask how it was. It was good that they had the Wallace dog statue to raise money for Props charity and the toilets were clean.

Popped in for the northern most 2025 Gromit. Pub was empty as it was 4pm in the afternoon. Guy behind the bar gave me some history of the pub, pleasant chap. Sat in the sun in the lovely garden. Didn't eat, had a packet of Mini Cheddars. Would return.

Booked for a group of people but was slightly late getting in due to traffic outside the pub and entitled drivers - less than 5 minutes late. Had multiple comments about too many people and turning up late... The chap at the bar was rude in every interaction, even making comments about the kids... said the specials on the board weren't available because there were too many of us... Honestly, we would have left if it weren't for the tired and hungry kids with us. Food was fine, and all other staff were lovely but the repeated comments and complete lack of understanding from one member of staff made it a tense meal. Would not recommend - there's another pub up the road instead.

Was only brief as we were on the gromit trail, and it's hidden in their beer garden. Would seem rude not to grab a soft drink in passing. The lady behind the bar was welcoming and seemed those around us was making the most of the hot day

We didn't book so they had run out of roast by 1 o'clock, we did eat off of a very small menu, then had to wait ages for it to come, we didn't stay for desert because we didn't want to wait again but also there was nothing which was dairy free as I have an intolerance.

Fabulous country lunch, farm to table, best Steak and Guiness pie I've ever had. Cody atmosphere, village flair.

Used this pub many times after walks in the area. Never been welcoming to groups who just want a drink. Will find somewhere else next time

Really friendly welcome, and despite the pandemic, a lovely crowd inside, with a nice atmosphere. Food was very reasonably priced, and good quality pub food. Waitress couldn’t do more to help, funny, engaging and helpful. A lot of effort has gone into making sure everyone is safe from Covid 19, clear signage, one way system, hand sanitiser stations, shame they have to close for November.
