The waiter Charlie-Rose was so sweet and bubbly to talk to we didn’t had to wait long for our food. The food was delicious and the drinks were lovely. The atmosphere was was wonderful with the lighting and e music. The toilets were spotless. This is a lovely place to go to definitely will go again.

At the end of a winding road lies a beautiful haven by the canal. There’s ample parking, and it’s just a short walk to the entrance. We visited on a rainy Saturday evening and booked a table for three. Most tables offered a panoramic view of the canal, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available. Our table certainly didn’t disappoint. The menu featured all the classics with some creative twists. We started with a scotch egg, perfectly cooked and served with a punchy side of English mustard—absolutely delicious. For mains, we went for fish and chips, accompanied by mushy peas, homemade tartar, and a nostalgic chip shop curry sauce. The triple-cooked chips were especially moreish. A spot well worth visiting—for the food, the ambience, and the views. Highly recommended.

A vast. but cosy contemporary pub set besides the River Avon / Kennet & Avon canal and close to Hanham Lock. ( point of interest - Hanham lock is the entrance to and thus the beginning of Bristol’s historic and famous Floating Harbour) Oh so many umbrellaed tables outside. A real treat on a beautiful day and still great on a rainy British summer’s day. Fine foods and great drinks. Well worth a visit or two. A suitably large car park. Did I mention? There’s even a few places to moor your boat.

Summer terrace with good restaurant right on the river, simple classic dishes and a few good vegetarian options. Parking available nearby. Service was great and the people are friendly but it took long for the drinks and the food to arrive. Waiting time was about 45 min… however, the food was fresh and delicious. We had cauliflower steak with salsa verde, heritage beetroot salad and a burger. All great! A bit pricy but you are paying extra for the location.. Good selection of beers and ciders! The place can also be accessed by cycling along the river bank which is fantastic.

Fantastically situated pub/restaurant alongside the river with the most gorgeous views overlooking the forestry behind, the staff have gone to great lengths in making the outdoor seating area just perfect with ambient lighting and a marquee. The staff are always lovely and genuinely friendly and chatty. The indoor seating area is rustic with a lovely wood fire for the winter months. It also attracts a very diverse crowd and not just locals. Food is of a high quality (my only minor criticism is the limited variety of vegan food) other than that - this place is quality.
