I was really happy when this pub was taken over by Zazu's and it was no longer a Wetherspoons... I'm seriously routing for this pub. I want it to be a success. So I'm not going to criticise, only make suggestions. So here they are:- 1. Don't get sucked in to making it Wetherspoons mk 2. The Waynes and Waynettas will complain that it's not cheap anymore, but is that the clientelle you want? If so crack on... But frankly they can go elsewhere, they are spoilt for choice in Bristol. If you want to change this place for the better, stay true to your identity. 2. Sort the lighting out. It's too bright. Just swap the white bulbs for warm bulbs. That simple. The amtosphere is cold. 3. Don't let standards slip. Keep the toilets clean. Stay on top of the glass collection. Don't opt for cheap produce with the food and drink. Stay classy. 4. Get rid of the school disco DJ's... Seriously what is going on with that?? Might as well just be a 'spoons again otherwise...

Lovely atmosphere, only fault is the online cider you serve is sweet cider and for some of us we prefer a drier one, like thatchers dry or Stowford press. Also no Ash trays in the back smoking area, hate putting dog ends in the floor

Excellent service and food at this establishment! Friendly staff, very attentive and polite. Quick service, drinks and food. I had the bacon and cheese burger, its was 10/10. Will definitely be visiting here again. Thank you so much!

Absolutely love that Hanham high street now has a decent pub! The food has been excellent in the 3 times I've visited since it reopened and we've loved the new vibe. The team are still training so it can be a little bit jilted but ultimately a million times better than spoons.

Stopped off at the Jolly sailor en route to Bath. I have to say this was far and away the best meal experience at a Weatherspoons for a long long time. Nice tasting and really hot food. Excellent service from the cheerful staff on the day. Well done everyone. We wish our local Wetherspoon ( The mail rooms Ross on wye) Could deliver food of this quality. Thank you for a lovely visit.

Excellent service at the Jolly Sailor in Hanham today. Our meal was served very quickly. The food was excellent quality and along with our drinks was such good value for money. Will definitely be coming back.

This pub could be a goldmine, sure it makes abit now but the decor and lighting is not great. You walk in and it feels like someone shining a torch at your face! You don't want that ambiance on a evening. All decent classy well managed pubs have a perfect warm lighting, not even expensive to sort out. Simple adjustment and no one seems to have a clue! Rubbish management clearly. Back garden is awful. Could be updated and a real winner but clearly no one got the sense to work that out

Great little pub in the middle of Hanham. All ages meet here. It serves the standard Wetherspoons food with a friendly staff. It has a front (faces main road) and back outside space. I like the upstairs area.

Very friendly helpful smiling team. An attractive pub with decor reflective of local history. As with all Spoons pubs great value for money. Even more so with loyalty vouchers. Our burgers and curry were very good.
