    We went on a Monday! Plenty of parking! Staff could try to look happy! Food was ok! I did think i could get tastier equivalent from Tesco! For the price....it was good!

    A very uncomfortable room and bed. The shower was very difficult to operate and only gave either very hot or very cold water. No one to check you in. You need a code to enter the property and you need to prompt them to send you one. The TV is complicated to operate. There would be a bar but it is closed down. The manager tried to resolve the issue with the shower after many phone calls etc. It still didn't work. The hotel is on a busy road. For the price paid it was poor quality. It is a "hotel " that is being run remotely.

    This was chosen as a convenient overnight stop to avoid driving after a party. The room was comfortable with, had a fridge, microwave and television. There was a slight drain smell on arrival but this dispersed after a couple of flushes of the toilet. The host was only spoken to by intercom and telephone but was very accommodating with all requests and polite at all times. Should there have been a hotel run by one of the larger low price chains, within walking distance of our visit, we would have chosen it.

    Was a nice room. However it said they provided shampoo and they didn’t. The shower has a gap down the side so the bathroom flooded. Ear plugs were a nice touch as the walls are paper thin and you can hear everyone’s conversations. The tv on the wall needed to come down another 20cm. Also the mattress is ROCK solid. So be prepared for an uncomfortable stay. However the room was pretty clean.

    Lovely atmosphere and incredibly polite and welcoming staff. We visited this evening for my mother-in-law's 70th birthday, the staff were impeccable, the food was amazing and we all had an amazing evening. We will absolutely be visiting again. Highly recommended.

    The food was fantastic, and great value especially as it a groupon deal. But they do a steak night for the same price as the groupon deal so I'll definitely be back for that! The service was fantastic also. The only negative point was the lack of ambience, atmosphere and homliness- it's ideal for a carvery (which they do) but not very cosy for general dining.

    It's a nice enough place to stay, however the rooms are right next to the bar so we could hear the music until the bar closed. If you bring a set of headphones you won't have any issue. Once the music stopped it was OK, the beds were comfy and room was spacious. The breakfast window was a bit small and quite early, 7AM till 9AM but the food was great and plentiful. The checkout was quite early too at 10AM.There's plenty of parking and a nice play area for the kids in the beer garden. The White Lion is right opposite Yate shopping precinct which is really handy.

    From a customer service point of view this is most likely the worst establishment I have ever been in, walked in waited 10 minutes to seated, which wasn’t to much of a problem, then asked waitress for drinks their response was I’m to busy, at this point i wanted to speak to a manager about the service in the establishment, managers first response is “have you booked” my response no your restaurant is empty and I just want to give you some feedback on the customer service. End result management not interested. Poor poor service

    This place has been turned around since it was taken over by Hollie and her team. It is just a lovely place to be now, with a warm and friendly atmosphere, great decor, and clean and smart rooms. The staff are always friendly and up for a laugh, and the food is spot on - what more could you want from a local? :)

    Went here with my partner for dinner on a Tuesday evening, it was fairly quiet in the restaurant and we were served quickly, we had the bread sharing platter to start and the kangaroo steak and black pudding stuffed steaks for mains, They were both presented very well and tasted very nice! It was great to have a choice of unusual meats (kangaroo, wild boar etc..) on the menu. I would definitely recommend and will be returning myself. The only bad points I could make and the reason for missing a star was the staff were slow and it took ages to get the bill.
