   Spent an hour on a weekday evening with a few women friends here. The first thing we noticed was that it seemed to be a pub for "blokes", and local blokes who play snooker and watch sport on the big screen. It didn't feel hostile but i wouldn't describe the atmosphere as friendly. Also the increasing music volume (it seems to suit the bar staff rather than customers), became intrusive to conversation. Not the first pub with this annoying habit but how is this supposed to encourage people to stay?

   This a lovely sized pub but it really needs updating. On my visit apart from a group of guys playing poker there were very few customers and even less atmosphere. The bar service was very quick & friendly, but the larger heavy choice on draught, only two bitters available wasn't at all exciting. More choice could be had in bottles & cans but to be honest those I can at any supermarket. I really hope this local pubs survives but I fear it won't.
