Good pub to watch the rugby, lots of screens and seen loads of games here. was very appreciative of the two helpful lads today who were very accommodating of us. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere

Having just moved to the area, and after walking our dogs on an unseasonably warm day, thought we'd pop in for a quick drink. Dogs aren't allowed apparently, which is fine, it's your perogative, but the rude and loud manner that we were told this by the girl behind the bar, made other customers turn around and stare at us like we'd just put a baby on a spike! Close enough to be our local, but we'll not be going back.

Security at rising sun. Keep asking for baseball cap be took off. Understanding i am away fan. On pub door dont say no cap policy. What is here issue.

There is a bouncer that is on an extreme power trip trying to tell woman how to behave and what to do. Never experienced anything like that in the UK. Still in shock. Stay clear.

Absolutely disgusting. My friend and her daughter who is disabled and none verbal and a wheelchair user, which should not be relevant at all. The daughter is 25 yes old but was only drinking a J20 was asked to leave for no apparent reasons . When questioned why was told just to leave as her daughter didn’t have ID when pointed out she was drinking just J20 which is not alcoholic they were told to leave. Kind and caring people they are not. How dare they treat people this way and they need educated on human dignity and kindness.

Worse pub in Ashton Gate area! I am a disabled man and I have to have my manbag with me because I have medical stuff in it. I went to this "pub" with my Dad, after a City game, and my Dad and me showed our season cards to the Security guys. Everything went OK, til one Security guy demanded to give him my manbag. He was extremely rude to me. I gave him the bag, but I felt embarrassed and intimated. Me and my Dad will not be returning! Place shouldn't have reopened!

Love this local pub, super friendly and always busy with good atmosphere, it has a really big beer garden, pool tables and dart boards. Affordable prices and staff are friendly. Will be going bk! :)

The Rising Sun is a great community local, right in the heart of Ashton, opposite Greville Smythe Park and just down the road from Ashton Gate, home of Bristol City and the Bristol Bears. My friends and I love this pub, its always lively with great staff and events on most evenings, plus good value beers and ciders, a load of TVs for the footy, dart boards and a pool table.
