Amazing! Long happy hour till 8pm for certain drinks. The cocktails there are delicious and well presented. Lots of good deals. The late night pizzas are not good though (not fresh nor tasty). Also love the Sunday Crown Karaoke
Definitely one of my favourite pubs in Bristol. Decent prices, great vibe, and the weekly pub quiz on Tuesdays is always great to go to. The bar staff are especially nice as well!
One of my favourite pubs. Quiet, low-key vibe, no horrendously loud music like many other venues on Sat/Sun. Decent value for money, especially the pizza. Staff are all lovely. Nice little nook of a bar to get away from the bustle. As someone who can suffer from disability in a more crowded space it's a way nicer atmosphere than many other local bars.
It's got a great venue, but I just like the garden and sitting in St Nicks market... Lots of fun people, always a good place to go and watch the world do it's thing... When I say garden. I mean the venue is technically the seating area out front, even though there's no grass... I call it a garden, and it's nice to sit there any evening..
My favourite pub for a reason! The quiz has the best energy, with the host being funny enough to control the crowd, doing better crowd work than most stand up comedians. Great drinks, great food, with the best pizza I've had in a pub. Would recommend if you haven't tried!
Really old pub. Nearly 300 years old. You get used to the smell quite quickly, so don't leave straight away like some flies I spotted, trying to escape! The beer sticky flooring, that reminded me of my student days, was up hill and down dale. A small, tight, winding staircaae leads you up to the gents. An old fireplace oddly protrudes from the wall, perhaps evidence of an old converted room. No WiFi. Well, "there is staff WiFi but it's not public" said the cheery barman, not even looking up from his mobile phone( lose a star!) Really good range of drinks available. I had a great stout cashed mena dhu
The bar staff ignored me for 45 minutes. I was there late one evening, it was busy and I was near the end of the bar but within the area of being served (there is a sign that says you can't be served past this point). I was patient and waited around 30 minutes and continued to notice people being served before me. I was still patient and didn't say anything. It took 45 minutes for me to say something as people kept on getting served before me. I used to be a barman, I respect and understand the stress, but you also recognise when someone has been waiting for long. Maybe have a message with your bar staff to recognize when people have been waiting for ages to serve them next, rather than the next person that just pushes through? Maybe look at this review and understand this message might need to be said as this review has happened. This is the first ever review I have done about waiting at a bar and it's taken me 30 years to do so, this is a reflection of how long I waited patiently.
I come to the crown frequently, every single time the staff have been absolutely amazing! It’s a wonderful place and the staff really make it. Especially the one bouncer called Carlos! My friend found herself in a tricky situation, and he truly helped her out and ensured she was happy and comfortable. Really appreciate people like that as there are few like it these days. Great job the crown, we love to visit your venue.
Lost its charm now its a bit too much of trying to cater to everyone and in doing so alienated those who are looking for that special place. It's now like a second mother's ruin. Focusing on being a trendy pub instead of a good pub Went earlier in the week. What's going on with the gents upstairs
