Walk in breakfast. Very good cooked breakfast, no complaints. Fantastic.

Booked the room for 4 nights, but left after one. The bathroom had a really strong sewage smell which permeated into the room, and we struggled to sleep the first night. The odour was so bad that we didn't even want to use the bathroom. Messaged the admin, who basically denied that there was any odour, (like we imagined it!) and that because we left of our own accord, we weren't entitled to a refund. Not sure how this hotel is classified as a 4 star when it doesn't have any amenities - no lift (we had to carry two large suitcases up 3 flights of stairs), no AC Would definitely not recommend this hotel - stay away!

We saw this place and stopped to have a breakfast! Everyone is so lovely and the portions/taste of the food were amazing. Special thanks to Sinem for sharing some tips about Edinburgh

Booked Edinburgh castle apartments on Bookings.com. Communication from the property relocated us to Hanover street . The room , no5 was fine, however the continual noise from the extractor fan from the pizza shop next door meant we couldn’t sleep. Such a shame.

Breakfast here is top notch. This is not your cheap and cheerful Wetherspoons breakfast (and they aren't bad either!). Great choice of breakfast options and good coffee to go with it. Scottish Breakfast was top notch.

Found cafe by accident on busy rugby weekend. Food fresh, tasty, large portions. Lovely relaxing feel to the place. Did not stay in rooms but are in the cafe

We had an excellent stay here. It is actually a cafΓ© that provides accommodation and it's perfectly situated central to the city. You are within walking distance of most attractions. We went with the deluxe queen suite which provided a very nice spacious room and ensuite bathroom. All standard amenities were included. The hot water in the shower was a bit intermittent but I expect this might be due to the kitchen and other rooms sharing the same hot water supply. The staff were very nice and friendly, but it is worth mentioning that there aren't many of them, and because they also run a cafΓ© they can be pretty busy. This just means that you can sometimes be left waiting to check-in or if you're wanting to make any queries you'll also often be left waiting a wee while. The breakfast here was very nice serving the full Scottish breakfast among others, and the cafΓ© is small but very relaxing. The prices were a bit confusing as I was quoted a breakfast price when I booked the accommodation, but they charged me the breakfast price from the cafΓ© menu itself instead. It cost a little more than what I was quoted but I wasn't too concerned about this.

Nice and clean room. Unusual that you enter via their small cafe front door but breakfasts were delicious.

Excellent room and location. Excellent heating in the room. If staying here bring very good earplugs, the single pane windows offer no sound barrier to people having conversations on the street outside and cars passing by. Bathroom drains smelled quite a bit, even on arrival, but the self closing bathroom door kept the smell from seeping into the room. On the day of check out, 45mins before check out begin, a member of staff entered the code and left the door to our room open, me in a state of undress coming out the shower noticed the open door, and popped my head out to be asked by the member of staff also doing the same to the door opposite, who asked me what time we’d be leaving. She was content with the reply β€œermm.. 20mins?” Also, it’s not run like a hotel, more like a cafe with rooms above it, staff are uninterested, and once 5pm comes they lock up and leave. On our last night there was obviously a party happening on the top floor, with lots of drunk young people coming and going, the main front door to the street was left open to allow all the partygoers to smoke and more to come and go as they please, but there are no hotel staff on site to do anything about it, so you’re on your own. On leaving, I asked the cafe workers if we could leave bags somewhere while we walked the city before the train arrived. She shrugged and said just leave them by the cafe tables round the corner (not locked away or looked over) so we opted to take them with us, anybody could have just picked the bags up and stolen them.

Popped in today for some brunch with a old school friend, I had the smashed avocado with roast peppers and mushrooms, and lemon and ginger tea. The new waiter was a star. Also the other staff members were great too. Thanks guy's. And the chef.☘
